Alright guys. Thinking about changing to a MK4 soon and thought this place would be good for some advice. Got a MK3 16v at the moment, just had it serviced and now its running better than ever! Maybe the 4 is a few more months down the line!

Welcome
Unless you go for a 1.8 Turbo you will be dissappointed in a Mk 4.
-
Cheers. I've had a look at a few t's already. Someone tried to tempt me into buying a diesel but these simply burn the wrong fuel!
-
There are some on here will tell you the diesel is the best option.
They can be chipped to some quite high bhp's!
-
Yes diesal is the way forward  we bought a mk4 gt tdi (150bhp) soon going to change the exhaust an have it re mapped hopefully get it up to bout 200 bhp .. to be honest you will be very surprised jus how fast they are standard .. id test drive one before you turn your nose up at diesal

I have heard this about the diesel and I really need to drive one. The only problem I have is that I'm a bit of a petrol head. I like revs! Also, it gets right up my back when a diesel driver floors it in front of me and throws out black smoke over the front of my newly polished paint! Are you one of those Kerrse?!
