Yeah- there wasnt a lot in the way of trade stands/ autojumble was there.
I was hopin to have a bit of a spend- all i bought was some german plates. Before everyone says... I know theyre really clamping down on them... But they look so good!!!
I was after some 4*100>5*100 adaptors for some polished audi wheels ive just bought for my mk2, but all i could find is 5*130 porsch ones.
Actually a guy mentiones pressing a 4 stud hub out an pressing a new 5 stud hub in. Anyone done this? I might put it on a seperate thread?

Just wanna say thanks to everyone that put their name down for the stand for actually turning up, think thats a first, and hopefully there will be many more like it, was nice to see such a large variety of motors all from one club. ( I personally think we were the most diverse and well turned out club there) Was good to meet up with the newbies of the forum, you all have some corking motors - ( vaughny, looked awesome in the rear view mirror on the way back, Dan - nice and very cheap raddo, GEM- Lush mk1 hun- if a little dorty  , tobz i love the oaky, looks spanking, and nice one funky for bringing the bora then cleaning it !! - and getting some stickers , and phils cab of course, even though firmly under the thumb i think  ) as well as meeting up with the oldies, (tesh, si, lewy, joe, joe, paul) cheers tesh for proving you can polish a turd, and yes si the strip will be done for the next show  -almost forgot i ran into ryan, alex, speedo and gtiedition aswell, top lads again. ( i know for a fact i have missed at least 4 people out as i cannot remember all the names - so sorry, but glad to meet you)
I personally enjoyed it, even if i did slice my wrist open whilst swapping the rad fans over whilst it was raining and in the middle of a massive group of show goers
Has made me realise just how much work i have ahead of me with this car, so the sooner i start saving the better. Looking forward to the upcoming summer shows, lets just hope that the gale force winds and rain clouds start to piss off.
Edit: just remembered i also met welshgar - scared the crap outta me cos i was drifting off to sleep on the fireup road when he rapped on my window, also blue, you are smaller than i remember.. :undecided: hope you get that door sorted mate. Yellowgti - soz was a bit pre-occupied fixing my fan

I didnt realise it was you,(i was talking to slick when you came up to say goodbye)same as you didnt want to make a idiot of myself saying who are you
-
the first show of the year isnt all that good but it was nice meeting you
Weather was pure sh!te. ~
Someone put a large dent in my pimp wagon and i got pulled over by the police again.
Not a good day for Blue tbh
-
sounds like I missed a good day, damn that slipping clutch!!
-
This was the first time I had been to to a gti festival and also first time at santa pod. Despite the weather being really annoying (I hate the wind) me and my mate had a great day. It was his first dub show of any kind and he's already looking forward to the next one. As most other people have said the trade presence was a bit lacking, I went with a great big list and the only thing I bought all day was a gearstick gaiter for my girlfriends driver!!! All in all an enjoyable start to the season.
Cheers to Slick for sorting out the club area, it's soooo much better being able to park closer to the action, especially when it starts pissing it down.
Cheers also for the comment on my motor Slick, I thought it looked filthy by the time I got to the show, roll on the dry weather.
-
i met joe+si at the servies (joe i always seem to meet you in odd places...) but i cant remember who the other three people were (a G60 and a mk4..)
lol
Twas I with the Mk4, and Kami with the G60.
Was a good day out and I'm glad I went, but I should've done a Gemma and cleaned the car, as I spent most of Saturday polishing, only to get 3 miles up the road and it was plasterd again - ah well. Mind you the rain washed most of the cr@p off anyway.
Good to catch up with Alex, Tesh, Paul and the convoy cronies, it was also good to see the w@nker in the Mk2 who decided to pass us on the way, stuck outside on the gate
I think next time we'll have to put names in the cars to tell people who you are, makes the 'hello I'm....' so much easier. I did it at ed38, maybe thats why people didn't speak to me!!!

Lewy
thought i recognised the car in the sig
yes that guy in th mk2 was a prick!!! were did you lot go, we lost when we were sent down a different car park bit....
Slick i saw your car, but ed and mark wanted to go of to the bank to watch the strip for a bit (was f**king windy)......so i wasn't able to come over and say hello...
-
Your forum name on a bit of paper in the fron window of the car is a good idea.
-
I was thinking about geting a German plate made up and sticking it in my window!
-
Thats a good idea too. But a bit expensive to expect everyone to do, but I like your style.
I just looked out for the big golfgti.co.uk banner that I saw last year, and then the peeps near it !
-
Aye, prob is a wee bit expensive but I think I will order one when i order my german plates! no harm done!
-
OK, I just ordered one, Max 9 characters from Dubmeister, so I just got in there !
How about we wear them round our necks at shows too !  Public Enemy / Beastie Boys Style !
-
How about we wear them round our necks at shows too ! Public Enemy / Beastie Boys Style !
You just keep your hands off my roundel
-

heres an idea, get golfgti.co.uk t-shirts and get our names printed on the back..........have i just taken it too far
i'll get me coat and leave quietly!
-
there are already shirts that you can buy, and i am sure you can then take it somewhere and have your name printed on the back. I think most people already know me now, but i do make the effort to say hello if there is a new person floating around the stand to find out who they are, sod it if you make a fool of yourself, it's all a good crack.
I have show plates, just with my username on, just same as uk plates. Nothing special, but lets you know whos the car is.
-
Yea i am going to get a blue polo shirt soon. Not sure about the name on the back tho, I dunno...maybe!
Yea chances are that unless ur on the stand ur not going to be stood with ur car so have the plate on to show who's car it is like u say and then I'll prob get a poloshirt so people will know. Thats how i recongnised JV and topher ultimate dubs!
-
For me the drive there and back was more fun...!!!  and that D**Khead in that Green mk2... well get a life man
For me the show lacked alot of quality sellers, but the strip was cool to watch in between the crap rain and wind!!!, good to meet up with people again, old and new.
-
yeah that guy in the green valver was a cock, if his kids werent in the car i would have hoped he put it in a ditch
was quite a good show, i just wish santa pod was nearer because theres never really a days worth of stuff to do there like there is at other shows. ive been inspired to start spending money on my engine though!
-

heres an idea, get golfgti.co.uk t-shirts and get our names printed on the back..........have i just taken it too far
i'll get me coat and leave quietly!
i don't think thats a bad idea but would be a pain in the ass for one person to sort out, so should be up to the individual member.
but this is also why i was trying to push a bit of golfgti.co.uk merchandise.... not only does it allow for the site to be paid for it also lets us identify ourselves. if you look at some of the other 'clubs' they go all out to shout about who they are and we're a bit more reserved(?) on here?!
i think this is a great site and am proud to be part of it! i was thinking of designing a new forum t-shirt that wasn't cheesy or naff but would still be able to show that we're part of this forum.... and a t-shirt that you wouldn't be embarressed to wear down the pub!
-
Aye just a suggestion like, i dont want just me to do it then be the only one who gets my name on the back and look like a pillock!!
I am all for buying a bit of merchandise, will defo be getting a polo shirt before the next show.
-
Well I've got MADONE number plates already, I just forget to bring them and put on the car, saying that I can't even be arsed to clean my car at shows... so bad of me hehehe, I will at big shows promise?!!
I'm all up for club t-shirts, but they have to have a cool design on the back... but I'm sure after meeting me and Lewy you won't forget us quickly!!! just ask a few people from ed38 show last year!!! - bring on the summer shows of 2006...
Lewy have to ask was that your boy friend you brought with on sunday - you two look like a nice couple....
-
Yeah new T shirts please! I dont like polo's!
Yes we are a bit reserved, I was the only one to wear a Golf Gti t shirt at Bugjam last year.
Name on front under logo I think - will get the wife to embroider it! Well I paid enough for her new sewing machine!!!
-
anyone got any pics of our cars on the club stand?
even tho i probably looked like i wasn't enjoying it,(was takin it all in+too windy+i went on my own )i did enjoy it and was well pleased my car was on there, thanks so much to everyone who let me put me car on and organize it.
 :grin:thanks
any one got any pics of the club stand??
-
was really good to meet some new people and catch up with the ones i met last year, not alot to waste me cash on and i couldn't get any of the parts i want to get me mk1 back on the road! But i did get some stickers and an alloy tax disk holder for the bora!! Oh and some number plates too! (also had my face sheered off by Arctic wind........ which was nice!)
well i have order all the parts i think i need to get 'brum' alive and kicking! so hopefully will be back to retro for stoner! Nice mk1 gem, nearly said hi but you were cleaning i didn't want to look like a cheb!
-
Lewy have to ask was that your boy friend you brought with on sunday - you two look like a nice couple....
Your only jealous, you couldn't even get a bird, let alone a bloke!!
-
^ ^^^^^
-
joe, are the door you got in good enough nick to put straight on? should look sweet with the audi handles!
-
they are indeed but i'm going to get them re-done anyway, i want the rubbing strip holes welded over and as i'm having other stuff done i might as well get them sprayed :P
-
Thanks toofunky, you should have said hi! I would have said hi to you but I didn't know what you looked like! Seems like there was more people there from this site than I realised. We are definately gonna have to get name badges or something. I like the t shirt idea but even if we had done that they would have been covered up by our coats as it was so f**king cold!!! Never mind eh?! It'll give me an excuse to go to more shows so I can meet more of you!!!
-
Lewy have to ask was that your boy friend you brought with on sunday - you two look like a nice couple....
Your only jealous, you couldn't even get a bird, let alone a bloke!!
Yeah you know it man... I just love you....!!!!!!
So what did everyone think of that lovely mk4 golf that had such a wicked paint job and nice front bumper... I say shoot the owner for doing that to a golf...

-
woohoo, we actually managed to get 12 cars on the stand afterall. Tasty.
Regarding that shed of a mk4, i think i must have a sh!t car filter on my retinas now, as i didn't actually notice it until i think it was paul pointed it out to me when i went on the hunt for a rad fan. Fooking gash like, although i spose it must look good to the bloke that can't spell a four letter word.
-
