Serious amount of work going on there !!!

Is it a rebuild/restoration or is there gonna be some serious power going in there ?

That Middle picture - Love it !!!!

now im no exper but there seems to be something missing in your pics mate, just cant put my finger on it tho. Im sure theres normally something in there, now what is it?

the third of your pics topher, the rabbit with the chrome bumper and steelies is nice. get rid of the fogs and put some chrome trim on it and that'd be lovely!

oh its gonna be a proper job!  so far I've got / done the following

8v 1.8 taken to 2.0L with bore and Audi crank
lightened and balanced crank, pistons, rods, flywheel etc etc
GTi Engineering flowed and ported head with bigger valves
Shrick cam with the biggest lobes you ever seen
4 branch manifold
APR fasteners

The plan is eventually to fit throttle bodies but I'm still looking for the right price/setup

Ive been working on the car for about a year now, its come on a bit since the pix were taken. Almost every part is being replaced or re-furbed depending on time/money/parts availability. Just cant decide on the colour, had a year to decide and i just cant make my mind up. I'm hoping to have it ready for the summer but we'll see!!!

its a tough decision. You will decide then see something else that looks great and change your mind and blah. Im a huuuuuuuuuge fan of the r32 purple and as yet havnt seen a mk1 in that colour. just a thought tho. That grey looked lush

Cool, good luck with it !!

There's nothing better but also more annoying than choosing what colour to spray a car is there !!

Have you seen the TB set up using the Magnetti Marrelli ECU from a Pug 106 - helps keep the costs down on the management side of things ? Still the expensive mapping costs though

Hoping to go down the same route as you when I get a bit of cash together !

Why 8v and not 16v if your going the whole hog ?
No dig - Just wondering what the advantages are ? New to this NA tuning lark

a few reasons really, prefer the simplicity of the 8v. I'm also thinking that its more in keeping with the 'feel' of the car, bit more original and a bit differant than bloody 1.8T conversions. I reckon with good mapping I could get 180-190bhp, hope so anyway
