Just bought these for the rear because it was needed ! 2014 GTI with only 13000mls . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141934849589?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
But was going to put new ones on the front at same time ( but the fronts are ok ) should I waist my money or not ?
looking at Tarox

They look a good buy with pads as well ebc are a decent brand iv had green stuff pads in the past and they do reduce brake dust immensely.
I see these say vented I'm no professional mechanic but are the rears vented???? Im in the wife's scirocco today so can't check mine but normally rears are solid and front discs are vented.
-
Rear discs are different between GTI and GTI PP. The PP does have vented rears whereas the standard GTI rears are non vented.
So these discs are correct for a PP GTI.
-
Worth getting the Red pad for the pp? I was going to.

I stand corrected ref the discs thanks...
Red stuff pads are designed more for high performance and more track use I found green stuff pads a good all rounder for normal use

I have Tarox Strada pads on the front, they have a bit more bite and produce a lot less dust. Have not changed the rear pads yet but I think I will go for the Strada's when I do.
Have used the Strada pads on my old Mk5 TDI 4motion and they were a vast improvement over standard.

My car is the PP.
Think that set up for the rears should be fine. looking at Tarox discs for front but they are not cheap.

Too expensive ?

Brake hard with those and I think your eyes will pop out
Seem expensive but will pay for theirselves on the first occasion you use them in anger and stop in time...

And these

Tarox disks look good but if you have a PP,the Clubsport S discs are a straight swap, lighter by 900g per disc and available for less.

Make sure you give them a coat of silver hammerite before you get them fitted, they'll start rusting after a couple of months otherwise.
Must get round to doing mine soon, rusty discs really let an otherwise spotless car down
-
These also look good and a fair price .. but i am no intrsted in the clubsport S ones but that will be £420 by time i get pads

I have a question, I'm just about to change the Rear discs and Pads........... Mine car has the standard brake kit.
The disc's I've had come are ATE Rear Discs (These are vented) The disc on the car are solid ....Will these fit ????
The pads are EBC Yellow stuff pads
-
As I said in my earlier post, there are two different brake set ups. The GTI has solid rear discs and the GTI PP has vented rear discs, if you have a PP car then these discs will be ok but they will not fit between the calipers on a standard GTI.
Hope that helps.

This is what I thought, I used my Reg Details on the website too :( . To be honest its not the only site that has said these were correct. I'm struggling to find the correct solid type ..... Any ideas ????
Thanks for you help
