Title: PCV Valve
Post by: Snoopy on 03 October 2016, 17:10
Can someone do me a big favour and have a look on ETKA and see what could be listed for my car please.

Ive also being told today the AC is the current version.

So confused but want this part  :undecided:

.

Ordered a new PCV valve 06H 103 495 AD (£78.20) and breather pipe 06J 103 213 E (£22.40) which it's advised to change as well due to the likelihood of broken tabs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQEciqR1ST8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQEciqR1ST8). Next day delivery so will be able to fit them tomorrow.
Asked about buying this today from VW dealer for my early 2010 model. Oddly being told mine would be a 06H 103 495 D for a new one and the car would be fitted with a A version from the factory.
When I looked at the one on the car it was version E.

Haven't ordered yet as bit confused.

Have you had the car from new Snoopy? Ie there's no chance it was changed before your ownership?

Unfortunately my ETKA isn't working at present otherwise I'd have a look at numbers for you. If I manage to get it working I'll have a check..
Thanks. If you need the chassis number to verify I can PM you it.
Yes ive had my car siince new and the date stamp on the part is actually 12/09 so never changed without me knowing either.
Its a March 2010 car.

CCZB engine code.
Part No. 06H 103

ETKA still not working for me mate I'm afraid otherwise I'd be on this! All I can say is that when mine went in April I checked it and the my replacement was the latest version (06H 103 495 AD).

Yeah, that's odd. Be interesting to see what your old valve looks like.

H

Fitted them both after lunch, nice and easy to change. Car is now unhappy to idle with the dipstick quickly pulled out while running, indicating new PCV valve is working. Leaks cleaned up and I'll monitor them over the rest of the week and weekend.

Im actually more concerned now about mine with the new one fitted as it seems to make little to no difference removing the dipstick.
:(

Hmm, mine was noticeably worse running with the dipstick pulled out... :S

With the old one pulling the dipstick it just about stalled the engine then it came back to life.

With the new one, removing the dipstick it has a very very slight miss and very slight engine rock but tickover doesnt seem to change or maybe does for a fraction of a second.  Its hard to tell due to the other sounds.

Video above is not ideal but shows what its doing.

Thanks for this, very much appreciated.

I will compare mine to yours again tomorrow.

Yours does seem much more noticeable.
