I see VW have extended the £1250 dealer contribution from the GTI to the R & GTD if you buy using a PCP.
That plus £1000 loyalty bonus is not a bad offer at all.
If you add those savings to the broker price you can get a really good deal. if it can be registered before the end of March.
3dr R at £24,625
3dr GTD at £21,042 <--- thats a steal considering the equipment it comes with.
-
Broker like drivethedeal?
-
As said on previous post, that R price is really tempting....
Can anyone on here say they aid the PCP within the 14 day period to know serious pitfall

Arnold Clark are selling 65 GTI's with delivery mileage for £22,995  . Just shows you how these cars are falling in value
-
I'm trying to get my wife to agree her 2005 1.9 Jetta with 280k on the clock needs to be retired, however it won't bloody die. I service it every 5k miles and apart from needing a new clutch at 200k miles it's been amazing. The bodywork isn't looking too fresh thou!
-
that's right the 1000 quid loyalty bonus is extended through January all you need is a copy of your v5 document
-
Its till the end of March
-
Still haven't had a response from my favoured salesman at Pulman on behalf of my Dad, wonder how much a DTD supplying dealership would offer for my Dad's 38k miles 5 door DSG GTD (Jul 13)? Even a straight £15k and get the finance to clear in 14 days would result in a cost to change of £8300, which is more than acceptable to him for almost 3 years depreciation (come March).
If these 2 incentives aren't a one off, I can see the residuals taking a battering.
-
The loyalty offer is on cars subject to delivery by the end of March so it will be a case of finding something in the pipeline because now it is touch and go whether a factory order will arrive in time.
We can't take factory orders and guarantee delivery before the end of March. It is a great time to buy a new Volkswagen but not such a great time to sell a used Volkswagen......
Having said that I nicely spec'd car in the right colour with the right number of doors will be sought after.
-
With Vw sales having been hit hard according to the latest SMMT data, I would be amazed if they turned a customer away on this deal if they were unable to fulfill their order quickly enough? It seems their arrogance knows no bounds!?
evo1986, out of interest what is the right colour and right number of doors to be sought after? Is transmission important?
-
I have already had Volkswagen customer services speak to a customer and tell them that they have to take delivery of a car by the end of March for the loyalty discount. So they will not guarantee the loyalty discount on a factory order because it might not arrive in time. It is part of the terms and condition of the offer.
On GTI/GTD 5 doors, dsg or manual are ok but DSG slightly more sought after. Colours Carbon grey, night blue, limestone, black.
Spec wise it's having something like leather and nav are a huge draw for dealers because it's rare to find on a GTI/GTD and people have almost come to expect it from a premium hatch.
Golf R DSG leather and nav is almost essential anything but white or red is desirable. If you have the 19's people want DCC.
-
My salesman has always been pretty dismissive of leather, a £1700 option that will return a £300 premium over cloth come p/x time. Maybe there are regional tastes at play, but at the end of the day if the difference between a fair few extras and one without is 20% of the RRP of those extras, I wouldn't be buying anything I didn't intend to use heavily myself. If my Golf fetched £1000 less than a fully loaded one, i'd consider that £3k saved rather than £1k lost.
-
Evo I have a 5 door DPB with Nav and leather that I am looking to offload for a gti or r now that the offers are around
Give me a call.

£1700 for leather(sorry I mean plastic) in a Golf is taking the piss.

Was planning on ordering a new GTD at the weekend but the £1250 contribution seems to have disappeared from the VW finance calculator? Hopefully it will return in the new year.

Has it been confirmed as a bona-fide offer rather than another VW website glitch only intended for the GTI?

Fire me a PM with your number and what you would like in terms of spec and I will give you a call on Saturday when I am back in with what I have found.

Taken from the £1250 solutions offer page
"Offers are not available in conjunction with any other offer and may be varied or withdrawn at any time"
Does this mean you can't use it with the Loyalty £1000 offer ?

DTD and Orangewheels are including it in their offers so I assume it's genuine.
The contribution is showing again in the online GTD finance calculator, must have been a glitch yesterday.

Seriously, you replied at 1:12am on New Years morning. That is what you call a dedicated dealer!

I've been into the dealers this weekend and got a finance offer on a Carbon Grey 5dr GTD, the offer includes both the £1000 loyalty bonus and £1250 finance contribution. Happy with the deal in general but the GFV seems low at £12500, the online VW finance calculator gives a GFV of £13564 over 3 years and 10k miles. Dealer says he can't alter the GFV as it's fixed by VW Finance, is he bull*hitting me? I seem to recall someone else having a similar issue but can't find the thread.
The low GFV is pushing my monthly payment up by about £25/month which I can afford but if I hand the car back after 3 years I'll be 1k out of pocket.
Has anyone had a finance offer on a GTD recently and is willing to share their GFV value?
Thanks
-
Give me a few minutes and I will check on our Volkswagen connect online system to make sure that is the maximum.
-
£12,280 is the highest GFV I can get using Volkswagen finance.
That's based on a 5 door GTD manual set on 10,000 miles per year over 36 months

Had a similar discussion with the Audi dealer when I got the wife her A1. They reduced the GFV by the amount they'd discounted the car, it never went through finance in the end but the GFV on the finance quote was well down on what was being advertised on Audi's website. Maybe standard practice to now claw back some of that discount/incentive at trade-in time? If you stick with VW and know what you should be getting in p/x (i'd normally expect 85% of the sticker price for similar cars to the one you're chopping in within the dealer's used stock), but if you walk away, that could be seen as a grand lost.
The VW GFVs are falling quite sharply at the moment - continued fallout from the VW scandal and the effect of plenty of incentives to keep the order books healthy? 45% of RRP after 3 years for a GTD is now looking like BMW territory. It was 55% when the first GTDs were ordered around Easter 2013.

Thanks Evo, at least I know I'm getting the highest available GFV.

I'm relatively happy with my offer, just wanted to check that I was receiving the correct GFV. It did feel like I was given a loyalty bonus with one hand which was then taken away with the other. I suppose residuals will be further hit with the current offers so it makes sense that GFV's are declineing accordingly.
-
Yes I think this is very much the case. Although the low GFV will help to generate (hopefully) some equity after three years. The older (circa) 16k GFV, if available now, would see a much larger number of cars handed back after three years - not something VW would want - hence the reduced GFV we are seeing now.
-
Let's assume you have got a sensible discount taking into account the loyalty discounts, deposit contributions etc you can get a 5 door GTD with metallic paint for under £24000. For them to offer a GFV of £12,280 after 3 years and 30,000 miles of usage that's a GFV of over 50% of the true cost of the car and in 3 years it will be an old model I think that's very fair. But I would say that I work for them : )
I guess the people who bought them on VW solutions 3 years ago and had an unusually high GFV in my opinion are now probably very glad they did have it on PCP. Because deep down in my head I knew that 3 years ago those really high GFV's were only going to end up in lots of cars being handed back to Volkswagen finance and gave customers a low monthly payment. It meant 3 years ago you could drive a GTD on vw solutions for less than a Golf match 2.0 tdi or a GT 2.0 tdi........

Hi, I'm also looking at the current dealer contribution, finance, loyalty's etc for the GTD.
Is the above quote of (3DR at 21,042) actually possible at the mo.
Orange Wheels have quoted me 23,064 (basic) which is 2,000 more and I was hoping that someone or a salesman could point me in the right direction please. thanks clm
