Hi people.
I've still not sold my mk6 Gti. I can't decide on a Gti or a gtd. used prices seem very high. Anyone in Scotland ordered a brand new one with the 12% discount ? I'm now thinking about waiting on the mk8.
I still feel the mk6 is a better looking car than the mk7. My wish list is
Auto
5 door
Heated seats
Grey or white

I parked next to a white mk6 gtd at work today and i know i am biased but my car look 10 times better
The mk6 is a nice car but it isn't in the same league as a mk7. Try speaking to Bobby at Inch VW in Stirling he is a good salesman and he will be able to get you a good discount. My GTD took 14 weeks 2 days to come.

Wanting to spend between 20-22k

I ordered a brand new one with 11% discount but I'm not really sure of your point / question!

its going to have to be used on that budget
-
Indeed - you cannot get a new GTI or GTD for that money ....
-
Definitely not a used 5 door with DSG for that kind of money yet.
Maybe in about another year or so...
Or you could PCP one rather than buy outright? The cash value of your Mk6 would probably go a long way towards covering it for a couple of years?
-
Having just bough a lovely condition, well-specced used GTI for exactly this sort of money I think there's opportunity in the private sector to get exactly what you're after.
-
Yes buying privately is an option - or maybe an option if not needing car finance.
-
Just got a mail from Drive the Deal, 18% on 5 door GTI all be it this includes the deposit contribution for VW with PCP (all be it you can pay that off in first month)
-
To be fair its a 12% discount - the deposit contribution is currently made by VWFS which can be withdrawn at any time.....
-
Or you could go leashire? You can get a brand new gti for £400 a month with no deposit. I put down £3k and I pay £300 a month.
Remember there is a £1250 deposit contribution on the Gti, but not on the Gtd. Something to bear in mind.

I put down £2500 deposit and pay £285 a month including servicing & maintenance, deposit aside i am saving £30 a month on my 5 year old 3 series.

Thanks for the replies.
My mk6 is paid off. I don't want finance. Going to use savings and whatever I get for the mk6.
Never heard of drive the deal, are they and good

That's quite the deal, do you mind me asking where you got it and the details?
Got quote back from my VW dealer yesterday, 3 Door GTd DSG no options, 10k miles per annum, £3k deposit, came to £330 per month over 48 months, no maintenance or service included. thought it was a bit much

I got an email from Drive The Deal yesterday, they are offering a 17% discount on a new GTI. Now that's worth doing!
