get the walbro 255 pump. its very good a not that dear
-
Well iv had the option on either but there 2 nd hand
Iv bin offered the cupra 1 4 £40 as it's someone breaking there golf
-
if your going over 300bhp then buy the walbro but if not then the cupra pump is plenty and £40 is not a bad price

buy the pump new then you know it should work
-
also if your going for high fuel pressure eg 5bar+ then the cupra pump will break

also if your going for high fuel pressure eg 5bar+ then the cupra pump will break
4 bar is overkill on most so 5 will be useless

true 3bar is sound on a good map but then again I got around 210bhp with only 5bar fuel pressure and 18psi boost
-
I'm only going to a stage 2 map so it's guna be 250bhp tops 4 me
Plus what does 5 bar mean on fuel pressure?

Plus what does 5 bar mean on fuel pressure?
standard fuel pressure is 3bar on 150 and 180bhp engines and 4bar on the 225bhp engines
but anything higher than 4bar will put a lot of pressure on the standard fuel pump and injectors and may lead to them failing

So would u say the cupra r pump will be to much 4 a stage 2 map ?
What injectors do u recommend 4 stage 2

your standard pump and injectors are good for 250bhp with no problems
-
Okay that's good lol
U

if your going for a new pump then get the walbro its £75 on ebay. the oem pump new would be around £150-£200 I think. As for the cupra pump it might have a lot done and could break. If I was you I would keep using your original and if it gives up then upgrade. 104k on the original is not a lot.

Hi there buddy, Ive had a cupra r fuel pump fitted for well over 6 months now, I'm running 313bhp and 341lbt done by Mr Nic at R Tech and it runs like a dream  was getting fuel starvation on the standard pump !!!
Took me less than 10 minutes to fit, make sure you buy a new gasket seal for the pump don't use your old one mate and there dirt cheap to buy
-
I don't no what to do bcuz iv bin offered 1 4 £40 but it's not gonna work as good as a new 1 is it
It been 2nd hand is putting me off
Wer I can buy a walbro for £70 brand new
-

Is this a joke??! This definitely made my day. I can always trust the forum to provide entertainment!
Seriously though just put the car back to standard.

Depends what engine code he has as to whether maf + injectors are suitable for 250bhp.... AGU will top out at 235bhp for both.
Look at the Sytec P3031 pump, capable of 7bar its a fit and forget pump and seems to be very very popular with those who love to tune at the minute.
Sure you need to have FPR psi value + the boost pressure for the pump to stand up...so in most cases....the fuel pump sees over 4bar? Could be wrong on that tho. Have a read into fuel pressure and boost.
-
Only he's talking about static fuel pressures, 3 bar being mentioned as "sound on a good map". He's running 5 bar static fuel pressure so in most cases the pump is sees over 6 bars? Could be wrong on that though. Have a read into the previous post.
