Hihttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-GTI-TURBO-BLACK-HPI-CLEAR-VERY-NICE-GOOD-CONDITION-/131080917007?ViewItem=&ssPageName=ADME
I am off to buy a MK4 tomorrow from ebay
I want the 150bhp but was under the impression this might be the 115bhp...how do I tell??? Quick reply would be good :)
Thanks, Ali

GTIs are 150 standard. (Unless its the 180 model)
Think your thinkin of the TDI that have pd115, pd130 and pd150.

Actually the 2.0 gti is 115bhp and the 1.8na gti is 125bhp
If it's got a turbo it's 150bhp+
-
Thats if you class the n/a as GTIs ;)

It's a 1.8gti turbo 20V...I'm a mk2 girl and this will be my first Mk4 so want to know it's a 150bhp not a 115bhp :/
-
Put the reg in a comparison insurance site and should tell you. They do a 1.8 20v N/A and a 1.8 20v Turbo like dom said.
Can be pretty confusing :)
-
It is advertised as a gti turbo 150 20v....but I thought the 150 had the red I badge? 2002 model!

How many miles
-
As has already been said the colour of the badge doesnt mean anything, VW seemed to just chuck on whatever was lying around.
If it's advertised as a turbo then it probably is, especially with the history that comes with the Car.
-
The badge means bugger all, it's just what they had to hand at the time. I have a silver I on mine from the factory

-

-
All the effort the seller put into the description of the car and forgot to mention the blue smoke???
Im sure you will sort it. Welcome to mk4 btw.
-
Have you checked to make sure it still has a cat fitted?
-
Yes it was a very in depth description minus that one little point  I think it still has the cat, but will get a man to check for me
Thank you for the welcome and I'm sure I will be on here moaning or asking for advice quiet a bit lol
Happy New Year to you all
-
That adds 5bhp more to the car, took it off mine as it was too fast
Wrong page sorry lol
-
Thats if you class the n/a as GTIs ;)
I'd class the AGN more as a GTI than the APK any day
-
Yeah!!! what he said
-
Welcome to mk4 ownership hopefully no biggie on the engine light looks a nice purchase I have been under mine the last 3 days changing a clutch that had been in 6 months (cheap rubbish) other than that I've had absolutely no issues whatsoever really solid motors IMO

Lol thanks  The one I bought had a new clutch 2 days ago apparently! It has 2 too many doors for my liking and lots of wood trim  soon to be changed lol Always been a mk2 girl so this is a bit modern for me but I do like it  Shame it has problems straight away but I'm sort of used to that now  You gotta love the Golf!
-

I'd class the AGN more as a GTI than the APK any day
but the apk has 200cc more which is great for pulling caravans
-
200cc more displacement and 10bhp LESS power lol
-
but it needs that extra power to pull along the weight of the 12 extra valves it has
-
Welcome to the wonderfull world of mk4 ownership! 2 tips, always use oem parts, buy an obd usb cable and get vcds lite on your laptop. This will save you a lot of hassle!
-
Thanks guys....appreciate your help
