Title: mk4 golf 1.8t problems
Post by: johnnyvr6 on 11 December 2013, 17:24
hi i have just picked this up fair cheap,i think the owner was abit optimistic with the power lol, anyway i have noticed the revs go up and down on idle and it feels like its holding back then all of a sudden the power is there more when cold,my old agu feels quicker and that only had a remap, also its quite bad on juice i would say my 4mo golf was better, what do you think could cause this, the link of the car

not sure but when I unplugged mine I had more power.
also a faulty maf will throw up a load of random fault codes.
I had 7 codes because of it

If it is the coolant sensor unplugging the MAF would also cure that, you need a scan to pin point the problem

Only 6-7 quid

some of the ones listed on ebay say they dont work with windows vista/7/8, is this case? or can you find one which will work on these Operating systems.
