http://www.speedydelivery.co.uk/car-accessories/xenon-h4-headlight-bulbs.shtml
just ordered a set of these for the winter months, got me new loom working at last, turned out to be my fault!
now i dont want to fit them if they will damage my head lights, i have some crystal clear ones fitted! does anyone know if these are ok ( i do know there not legal too! lol )

Shouldn't do mate.
As far as i can remember Dizzie is running higher wattage bulbs in his car (but dont quote me on that!!!)
-
you'll be fine running those. I'm running a set that look exactly the same. the baddest ones halfords do. they set me back £26 though!
The best headlights around now :D
the light is very white and awesome down a lane (if I can ever find a lane in cardiff!)
-
the bulbs work at an unbelievable 7500K degree Kelvin temperature
Fook me that hot...thats 7229 degrees celcius......the bollock scorchingly hot....that cant be right.....

do you ever get any trouble from the law? do people flash you all the time for blinding them?
-
I flash people that have their fogs on all the time! not flash, more of a hold on for a second. too many wave if I flash them!
no trouble with the law at all.
7500k isn't the temp the bulbs run out. it's something to do with the colour the bulb puts out. 10000k ones are purplely.
-
ah i see! well i will let you know what there like when they come!
-
ah, just re-read it diz, it says they can run at 7500kelvin, but im guessing that isnt operating temperature :undecided: :confused.com:
-
Here comes the science bit!
Kelvin is a measure of the wavelength of the light which represents the coulour 7500 kelvin is almost the same blue as HID lights or Metal Halide type bulbs new Vauxhalls and beemers.
1500 K Candlelight
2680 K 40 W incandescent lamp
3000 K 200 W incandescent lamp
3200 K Sunrise/sunset
3400 K Tungsten lamp
3400 K 1 hour from dusk/dawn
5000-4500 K Xenon lamp/light arc
5500 K Sunny daylight around noon
5500-5600 K Electronic photo flash
6500-7500 K Overcast sky
9000-12000 K Blue sky
Low color temperature implies warmer (more yellow/red) light while high color temperature implies a colder (more blue) light. Daylight has a rather low color temperature near dawn, and a higher one during the day. buy 'em and blind the f*ckers that blind u!
;)

thats some deep sh!t! lol
-
good knowledge that monza!

You have to be carefull that your bulbs are road legal.
Your road-legal bulbs are normally 60/55w. If they are a higher wattage then this then it can cause an in-balanced load being drawn from your car and it can cause failures. There is no need to buy Rally or other illegal high wattage bulbs, there are loads of good alternatives like the Bosch Performance +50% and Philips Vision Plus. Also these are all 55/60 so your safe AND legal.
Visit www.1stautobulbs.com for more information on these.
-
LOL blatent plug but driving a low golf with 2 candles behind the galss when a fancy new beemer blinds you it's always good to be able to melt there retinas with the 130W driving lights! hurrah for 4 lamp front ends!
From my knowledge If it has an E mark it's legal as far as the boys in blue are concerned.

Just tried your webby and got an error..

Thats not a bad price that, may get some myself!
the bulbs work at an unbelievable 7500K degree Kelvin temperature
Fook me that hot...thats 7229 degrees celcius......the bollock scorchingly hot....that cant be right.....
In fact, 7226.85 Celsius, its -273.15..
-
I am also considering some brighter bulbs, but i am going to opt for ones that are legal, i dnt have much luck when it comes to the police!

Whoops......and im doing thermodynamics :undecided:
-
 In fact anyway, it would be the temp of the filament....
We only just did an experiment today, which is how i know... We were like spitting on the bulb, to make it hiss  so thought we'd stick a thermistor on it, the glass was sitting at around 440Celsius... and we calculated the filament to be 4530K.
Sorry if my lab sessions dont interest anyone!

Don't worry...i get to play with a jet engine to Calculate the thermal efficiency of it and the gas flows...... :undecided:

Anyone else think we need a yawny smiley !
-
Thermodynamics definately needs A great big yawn! We are doing a course "Thermal Physics", never been so bored in all my life!!
-
Yup.....especially as the guy who lectures it to us has a fricking monotone voice....
-
it's ok to run higher wattage bulbs as long as you have the wiring to handle the extra current draw...

Er... what about if you've got plastic lenses, like in a mk3?
-
Yup.....especially as the guy who lectures it to us has a fricking monotone voice....
We proved the Stefan Boltzmann distibution today, about 4 pages of crap! I tried to saw my head off using a pencil!

The you remould then into what ever shape you want

we are still on the laws of thermodynamics...........
-
the mk3's are known for melting lights lol, but the loom will be fine :D

And, eeermmmm :lipsrsealed:

Mix and mallows ! You could be 70s cops on tv with those names ! We really do need a yawny smiley with convos that you two are having !  I really hope you two dont end up working in Maccy Ds after suffering all that sh!te
-
Might be less stressful
Nah, looking at rolls royce as my placement
-
 Even if i dont get anywhere with my degree, i can stick with my butcher job, which is a touch better then McD
-
Still playing with other poeples meat..
-
Yeah, but i can play with sharp knives! And cleavers!
Plus, i can get cheap meat
-
mmmmmm......................steak
