ok 230 sounds good!  so the remaps can be done in stages then ie stage 1 = 180bhp and onwards upto 230 bhp  or have i got it wrong

If your not after big power just get a panel filter, a k03s, a exhaust and a tip and you will hit a nice 230 bhp

I thought I would jump in on this thread as I am going to be getting mines remapped soon.

I am not looking for big power., is the standard mk4 exhuast system good for 220bhp. ( I have reached a point in my life were I don't want another loud car lol).

Thanks

Irrc the exhaust it's self may be ok for 220bhp although it will be a restriction but it's mainly the downpipe that causes problems as it is really restrictive

Not sure what the standard exhaust maxes out at but i've had a few resonated aftermarket exhausts of a couple of golf's and they aint too bad, I'm not a big fan of loud exhausts either, which is why i've taken the 3" turbo back off mine to get a cat and a decibel reducing insert welded in. The blueflame resonated system I had on my edition 30 sounded pretty much standard until you stamped on the go pedal.
