Title: Boot Liners
Post by: AAddict on 19 August 2013, 10:58
Anyone getting any of the boot liners to protect their carpets in the hatch?

I need to get one, as my 12 year old Lab travels in there. I don't need any kind of dog guard, but do need something to stop him scratching the top of the rear bumper and also to stop his 'funk' from messing up the carpet. This one seems ok (VW Part: 5G0061210), if a little expensive. Reversible so I could use the rubber side for him. Has a fold out flap to protect the bumper:

Another option would be to get a regular boot liner (VW Part:5G0061161) and have a clear protective film fitted to the upper section of the rear bumper.

Any thoughts?

I got heavy duty boot liner from Costco  £12  then used some Velcro to attach a piece of thick cloth to  it
Then use the cloth to protect my bumper .

Thanks, the pics from his younger days. He's 12 now and looking a bit more 'mature'  Such a lovely dog, soft as you like.

Check these guys out, I wouldn't buy anything else. These are super durable and have easily accommodated our bullmastiffs:-

@ Ginge 35edition, is that just the regular liner + bumper flap?

Yes regular liner plus boot flap and without 60/40 split. It's a great bit of kit, the only additions made was to put some extra Velcro on the plastic boot trim but that was only because I didn't like it flapping about.

Hit man - more like waste disposal!

I was going to go for once of those hard plastic liners with the edge around it, but that one looks like a much better fit.

Wonder how it will work with the spare wheel subwoofer. Any ideas?

It's quite thick plastic/rubber type stuff, so it would probably muffle it a bit?

Ohh might order a boot liner and one of those amazing cargo nets! They are worth every penny on a small shop at Tescos!

I've a cheap one from ebay in my current car, sometimes it's not only the Tesco shopping that can't break free!  Here's to a fine German engineered tangle-free cargo net!

Good point. I will see if I can find a sub friendly option that still protects as well as that one shown :)

Just ordered the semi rigid one... "Luggage compartment tray" did think briefly about the sub but hoping it won't effect it much.

Let us know if it is ok, or if everything in the boot jumps when you crank it up :D
