following on from Its all his fault (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=162478.0) I have been searching for a twin for DH's Toy.
and after a few weeks of searching, a couple of crap ones and LOTS of communication with my advisor :lipsrsealed:
I stumbled across a bargain on gumtree, a quick viewing later, a FAIL viewing by Danny P on an other short-listed candidate, I sent the owner a " best cash price " text.
Amazingly, it was less than I was willing to offer, so a deal was done.
Next up was getting it to mine for onward transportation to the IoW, and the seller came up trumps again, sorting all that out for me too, so i dont even need to sort anything out, go out in the rain or get my hands dirty. :smug:
So say hello to the latest addition to the fleet

Next up, the vectra gets to try and tow it to the Diamond Isle for a driving day to see how it gets on  :undecided:
and if its survived then Tyres, Cage, Seat, Harness and Roll Cage
-
My voice is in his head.

You'll never get it to fit. :lipsrsealed:

first up was to start removing the unwanted interior
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/IMG_12671.jpg)
Loads of space to shipping stuff down to the IoW in the back, and got a new stock of odd nut & bolts
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/IMG_12691.jpg)
and the fleet, tucked up to keep the neighbours happy
Oh and I have broke it  stuck in 4wd
Next up, wiring to sort in the back and battery to re-secure.
-
Get the number plate up for sale (specifically for Sheff Wed fans)
-
needs an MOT to do so I believe Slick  which this thing wont have again
-
That's a shame. Could easily make a pretty penny on that for an owls fan.
-
yeah, just checked, old owners couldnt have done it, I certainly can't unless its T&T'd
hey ho, sure the fun will make up for it
-
well I fixed the 4wd issue, jacked the front wheels up and it popped out into 2wd  Cheers DH
then before Sara Jane II goes south I was advised to remove the anti roll bar, fook those bolts were tight, dont think they have ever been out. So out came the 3ft breaker bar, saved me breaking out in a sweat and owt else that wasnt required
next up, noticed the seat wasnt fully secured,
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/39E95C2D-B24E-4CD7-BA2D-CC1712103DCB-3479-000002099131FA92.jpg)
so out came the 3ft breaker bar again

Next up, loading it onto a trailer on the back of the vectrarse :lipsrsealed:
-
Took it on its holiday

Now to find out how much of a shed I have bought when Mr Hell sees it
-
He's mugged someone right off, robbing them of this.

can't tell if you're sticking to forum etiquette by being sarcastic as its a pile of crap or if you're being straight? :undecided:

Drives tight, has no rust to mention. He's a robbing c*nt.

drivers side is not as tidy as it once was :lipsrsealed:
and it matches the vectrarse - it smokes a lot too
-
Dave has another drive today :lipsrsealed:
Poor little sj got tired so had a little lie down

-
i'm really not sure that he's respecting your property chuff... perhaps you should be in the passenger seat as he appears to favour rolling it to the right :lipsrsealed:
-
He was.
If he hadn't lost so much weight it wouldn't have rolled.
Amazingly it sustained NO damage in the roll!

I was in it both times. infact it had about 5 drivers over the weekend and only dave did the damage.
It just laid down though, no damage, no cracked fibreglass roof, windows fine and even the mirror survived
-
extraction in progress
-
That photo doesn't show just how numb Dave's nuts actually are.
-
well, a nice man wants my old tyres  and will give me cash, a spare engine and a SU carb and manifold.
I am told this is a reasonable deal
So, it was time for some decent off road rubber, bye bye this months spare cash, hello
(http://www.camskill.co.uk/smsimg/1630/59586-63770-full--1630.jpg)
-
Deal done on the previous wheels and tyres. Currently on a set of 'standing boots'. They being a completely non-matched set of utterly shagged tyres.
Spare engine and SU carb now rolled into the barn, too.
Plans being discussed for how to cage it with local experts.
-
spare set of FREE wheels collected from Swindon today  currently stinking the vectarse out
new tyres being delivered to work tomorrow, so thats the apprentice busy for an hour

all chunky goodness now
-
He took it trialing at the weekend and broke it.
Sheared two (probably original) transfer box mounts.
This is usual for a vehicle that's been pottered about in all of its life and then gets thrown at a wall or two of sandstone.
-
Transfer box mounts replaced last night with nice cheap-assed Land Rover mounts.
They just bolt right up, which is nice.
-
It might not have been me who broke it, it was driven by 2 in the trial and you took it on rescue duty
-
I did get it stuck here
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/DSCF5320.jpg)
the he broke the front end towing point trying to get help me out
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/DSCF5322.jpg)
and trying to get back out here
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b142/chuff69/DSCF5328.jpg)
which turned into a 2 vehicle recovery
Most fun you can have for £15 with ya clothes on :afro:
-
Replaced the transmission mounts that broke with Land Rover ones for about £2 a go.
During the recovery in the last post we also pulled off the standard recovery point on the front, so that needed to be replaced:

Including welding around the crossmember too:

Performed well as a tart during a recent gymkhana, although now needs a new clutch friction disc at least!
-
