Is this possible on an AEX 1.4 engine?

I can see little or no point in fitting it on a 1.4 plus it is major work.

I agree, i think the only thing i ever use is the outside temperature plus its not that accurate anyway.

Both cars I had with it on were never perfect and as you said outside temp was all other the place.

Weil mines pretty accurate, ive done the maths. Outside temp is spot on when on the move as is oil temp. An important feature I would say.

I'm doing the same so will let you know how it goes. I'm gonna attempt air con too so will see how that one happens. :grin:

In this weather it quite important on a vr6 anyway.

Do you not think that the mighty Volkswagen may have designed the VR engine to cope with a hot british summers day?......just a thought..................failing that park it up and have an ice cream or something..... :wink: :smiley:

Just another thing that would've been nice to have really, but like you say after more research it seems a bit excessive so probably won't do it.

The early ones were poor cooling wise, so much so they had to run an extra electric water pump on the later cars.

Some maybe.....but my 200k lump needs constant monitoring. On old cars, as time goes on the cooling systems become less efficent. Oil that gets to hot looses its ability to lubricate properly. So you know, it is quite important. On a vr anyway.

Glad i've got an 8v..works fine in -10 degrees of snow and 30 degrees of sunshine.......no probs.

8v do generally run spot on oil temp wise. More air space under the bonnet. Less horses cramping the stable :wink:. Mine never moved from 90 but my early vr will run at 95 and today, with the hoachin day we had was at 102.
