Just been investigating a bit of a graunching sound that happens when I turn the wheel and it seems that the passenger side front wishbone has quite a few rubbers that are well and truly past it.
Just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much Im looking at for a garage to do it?
Ive done the job myself before on an old car but I really dont have the time or patience now that I have a little one to look after.
Cheers.

do both sides an you should be looking at 40-50quid to have them fitted on top of buying the bits
-
I reckon you would be looking at more than that,
Got to be at least 1.5hours labour, possibly 2.
Most garages charge £45-£60 an hour round my way so Id say at least £80 labour plus parts.

dont use any of those garages again then if they take near 2 hours to change a couple of wishbones

Just for reference, my local garage said they will supply and fit them for 60 quid a side.

I was quoted 2 hours buy a vw specialist, I done them my self as it was far to much for me.

They will be really cheap arms surely?
I used a set of pattern arms and they only lasted 9months before the rear bush completely ripped apart,

Cheers Barry, I'll bear that in mind. Took me a little longer than that but I'm no pro.

but a decent garage should do it in that time,on the driveway or street is a little harder for the average guy

You can buy a pair with bushes and ball joints on ebay for £40 inc postage and do them yourself, done mine last week piece of piss

Take me roughly 45 mins to do both sides as a guess. Last time took me about hour and a half to take two wishbones off then replace bushes and then put the arms back in.

Impact guns to undo and initial tightening. Just jack up and whack out tbh. Balljoint tools make them easy enough.

All replaced and tracked for £140 - it feels so much better now!
They are pattern parts but Ive used them in the past and not had any problems, I guess I'll go quite easy on them now though
