Nice find Norbreck. Could be dealership demos mind you
-
It looks nice in black (back car) with those smoked LED tails. And those 19" wheels looks awesome!
-
Have to say those Santiagos look freakin awesome on the DBP
-
Nice Pic  just makes the wait even more unbearable... Well at least we know production has well & truly started...
-
Is the shark fin aerial standard? Looks like they all have it on the picture.

I remember seeing my MK6 arrive at the dealers with all that plastic still on and it looked as if there was a sharkfin underneath but there wasn't.
Sharkfin is only there if you have one of the nav units spec'd.
-
Yeah it wouldn't surprise me if those plastic sheets were pre-fabbed and cut with space for the shark fin if there is one.
-
Just look on autoscout24.de plenty in German dealers, and customers already have them.
I assuming build week 22 will start RHD ones.

At least the factory workers will have the production down to a fine art before they produce our cars...

This is one of the primary reasons why I'm not too bothered about the delays. As long as the delays aren't from manufacturing problems, in which case its worse.

Well we're RHD here in Ireland too and mine is in production since yesterday.
I'd love to know the inner workings / logic behind the production system. You guys in the UK always seem to end up waiting for months. This will be my 3rd VW and the longest I've ever waited for a factory order was 9 weeks.

Good find. As you can see from this link, you can buy them all ready over in the Fatherland

The leather really does make the interior look dull in those pics...

Yes, I agree. It's a shame VW don't offer a different colour leather as its too dark in the cabin IMO.
Also, I have to say scrolling through a few pages of GTI's available on that site, they've all got the 19" Santiagos which is interesting.
Another thing I noticed is the deep black pearly look absolutely BADA$$ - and that's from someone who's ordered Tornado Red!!
-
Interesting... nearly all those cars seem to be spec'd to the hilt. 19's, leather, Pro Nav...

Interesting to note there is no ADC in the front grill. They're fully loaded aren't they.
Nice pics showing the adjustable floor in the boot to give you a few more inches (ooh er misses ).

Agreed, it does look dull - the tartan really lifts the interior, and matches better with the rest of the interior materials used. Really not keen on the 19" wheels either, just don't scream "GTI" to me like the axes do.
Are these customer-cars or ones for demo/showrooms? If the latter, then of course they'll be spec'd to the hilt - somebody somewhere will wander in and buy them!
Edit: Loving the black underside of the spoiler, finishes it off nicely.
-
The "axes" alloys do look a bit small in some of those pics... but I think they always look better in the flesh. The 19's are far too fussy looking and the tyres are like rubber bands on them! I wouldn't fancy hitting a pothole on those rims.
Yeah, looks like ADC isn't standard fit in the fatherland. Not standard here in Ireland either.
The alcantara / cloth combination looks brilliant... glad I spec'd that.
-
It appears they are for sale. Clearly made too many for the German market, should be sending them over here for the only car market in Europe that is showing any growth!!
Funny how opinions vary - I think the 19s look amazing, the 18s are so dated IMO as pretty much the same as the monzas that have been doing the rounds since the mk5 ie 2006.

I agree on both counts, while the 19" wheels look ok, they don't look GTI. I think a 19" version of the GTI wheel, maybe in grey would have looked better. The leather looks rather cheap, like the fake leather you get in the current 1 Series and Mercedes A Class.
-
I have seen many a photo with a visible ADC lying in a cut out and also seemingly without ADC with a full grill and this is on both the GTi/GTD.
But it is a standard fit!? So does that mean all the demo and display GTi have these on view to demonstrate the technology and the production models will have the ADC hidden?
If had a preference it would be hidden but again small details as even in that garage photo they look so good :)
-
Maybe VW.de have different rules on selling the dealer demo cars and don't have to keep them for 3 or 6 months like our dealers technically have to.
I'm assuming that's why they're such high spec as they're showroom candy.
Mind you although the Euro cars are sold in a very basic spec all the ones I've seen on the roads (talking mk5s and mk6s here) have been specced up really highly. Obviously the Euro markets prefer the greater choice but the Rip Off Britain market prefers the bells and whistles to be built into the standard price better (probably another reason for poor mk6 sales).
-
Had no idea ADC is not standard fit in some countries which I am very surprised about - But that question answered quick :)

Aye, options are good, right?! I love the monzas - still blow most wheels on older and newer cars out of the water. I'm not sure what it is about the 19s I'm not keen on, they are a busy design anyway, made worse with the additional thin black spokes. Dunno', I just prefer a nice clean 5 spoke design.

Some of these pictures are really making me contemplate changing to DPB but I know it's a bugger to keep clean. Aaaarghhhh I don't know
-
In Germany at least, pretty much everything is an option - Xenon's, 18" Alloys, Adaptive Cruise, driver profile select.
It seems amazingly that even though VW UK pretty much screwed up all of the printed and written information as well as the build date debacal, it seems that at least they have properly specc'd the cars and got the price right ?

Mmmm now just picture that in RHD and...
... it if ever arrives!!
They look good in all of the colours really. I've really fallen for the red. And the Black, and the white...
-
Can't say I can see a single white one in candy white. All are Oryx. Look damn good mind you.
-
The best thing is that even though we all have different opinions & spec, the one thing that is for sure is that no matter what you've gone for the car will look the t!ts - every one looks awesome!!
Worst thing about these links - making the wait even more unbearable!!

Mmmm... The more I look at the 19" Santiago's, the more I'm unimpressed by them. The reason why I've spec'd them was that I fancied a change from my current 18" Monza's (which are too similar to the Austins). Maybe I should have saved my money, waited & looked at aftermarket alternatives... Oh well, they probably look better in the flesh. Only consolation is that they fill the arches better than the 18"s.
Also noticed the 18"s come with Continental SportContacts & the 19"s have Pirelli PZero's fitted.
-
the 18's had Dunlop sportmaxx GT. Can just about see the gt bit on a close up. Don't think they use continental anymore which is a shame.
-
Really???... My 'Bad'... I need to go to Spec Savers!

 I'm the only one who doesn't really like the tartan aren't I? It looks dull, faded and rough to me. Cheap car interior. Don't think I'd ever feel happy with it.
Not that I'm saying the leather looks much better mind. It looks more like a dull grey, whereas the in the configurator they make it look a lovely black  and its so expensive.
I love the leather in my current car, can't stand the tartan and want heated seats. I'm sticking with the leather but why can't they make it good quality the price they charge is high enough.
Anyone ever gone for a custom leather interior? I imagine thats even more pricey though .

28,000 Euros!!!! Which converts to £23,658. Now that's good.

I'm sure they are but it could be my eyes mind   We might even get hankook tyres

Hahaha... No, I'm sure you're right & I'm wrong. I was just going by the sidewall tread pattern which looks similar to my Continentals...
The 19"s are definitely riding on Pirelli's though.
Is it me or do the indicator stalks look cheap & flimsy??
-
I thought the same about the indicators when I sat in a GT. I'm going to have another look at the sidewall on that tyre again
Just checked and my sincere apologies gung-ho they are indeed sport contact 5's I think
-

That really stood out to me as well. I'm [going to be] a new Golf owner - how do these stalks compare to the previous gens? They look like they are ripe for snappin'

I think you will find in all reality the leather will be much darker than the photos show. With the inside of the cars being so dark, the camera simply over expose the insides to make to a lighter grey.
Now if they had used 1.5 to 2 stops negative exposure compensation, it would appear much more lifelike and darker
(Yes, my other job is a professional photographer- seriously).

I hope so. Both interiors look dull to me and I had suspected overexposure, need to see it in person. Do you think it's the same as the mk6?
-
I find the pics of cars never do them justice. When you see your new toy at collection I think we will all be impressed by the looks and quality.
