I have never seen so much hype about the threat of a bit of snow.
Countries that actually have PROPER snow must be pissing themselves laughing at that fuss being made about a few centimetres we have had.
Work from home, - yeah right
If you have to work, stay indoors - erm aye ok.
Bare supermarket shelves from panic buying
a DOCTOR giving advice about heating your house
What a crock of sh!te

Im not going to work today
Cant get any TV mind so that sucks
-
I gotta go to work ! here already - beaten the boss in again
Need to fit me winters ! Not doing that outside - its bloody freezing and the snow is settling
-
I'm strugaling to even get outa bed to look, but according to the wether people on Facebook we has no snow!
-
I start work at half 7 and I'm still in bed, I got 20 miles of high ground between me and my work so I'm not gunna make it I'm
-
Dunno what the fuss it about.
Off doing the window cleaning round for the last time ever.
-
My mrs works at a nursery in Norfolk and the council have shut pretty much every school in the county so she and the lad have the day off. Hospital staff are still getting in to work though and there are volunteer 4x4 enthusiasts that tow them in apparently
I am down in London and have no snow yet- hopefully I will be able to get home later this afternoon!
-
As a country year on year we seem to be bad at coping with a little snow. Even the mention of snow is big news.
-
Well I'm at work, just a bit of snow, will have to go up to the horse after work too. If worse comes to worse I'll just walk.
I swear in this weather people forget that they can walk?
-
The idea of snow excites me. It's always nice to see some fluffy white powder... :lipsrsealed:
However the UK is rubbish at dealing with it when it comes. Apparently it's a major disruption! Just be sensible when driving and it's easy stuff! I'm in work today, a few inches didn't stop me.
Crazy:

About 2" of snow in Shropshire and the whole place has ground to a halt. Virtually all the schools are closed, roads are blocked due to people who cant drive slithering about of a mixture of bald Nanjistu and Futatoo tyres.
FFS, we had sh1t loads more than this 30 years ago and nothing stopped then. We all got to school, people got to work. The drama made out of this little flurry is just a joke.
-
Are you going to make it to Wales tomorrow Chuff? I think you best leave today!
-
I have walked in today, collecting the car later has been cancelled however.
-
It's utter balls the fact the country grinds to a halt as soon as there's flakes in the air. As you rightly said chuff, countries with proper snow laugh at us. I have work at 3, work is 4 miles away, and I have already had a 2 people telling me to not bother going to work because the roads are dangerous and everything will be blocked off....Instead they want me to drive 20 miles to pick them up so I can bring them over to the new forest. Frigging joke I said!
-

Aye - what daft Cnut decided to have his leaving do in Cardiff this weekend
If they cancel my train I will just drive down
-
Are you sure you're not older than me?

What an absolute load of pandemonium bolloxs , the internet and social networking has a lot to answer for in scenarios of this nature.

crock of sh!te, ive never been stuck in snow. actually thats a lie, once going up a hill thats about 200 metres long at about 45degree slope, i got 90% of the way up then pushed a bit too hard on the accelorator, started to spin the wheels, stoped and then started again and got the whole way up, then a mile down the road stoped, hooked up a tow rope and towed a girl cause she couldnt drive.
some people are f**king idiots, last year i saw someone trying to reverse out of a car parking bay next to me, his wheels were spinning so he started flooring it and couldnt understand how i got out so easy
imo dvla should make people learn to drive for a year and in all conditions like in some countries, then people might understand that there f**king idiots

My mate got the MK4 stuck on a frozen grass bank yesterday. After nearly crashing through a garage as it's on a steep angle just warmed the tyres up til they were smoking he laid on the bonnet and I just drove it up.
Window cleaning done. Time to pull the head off a Punto. Too many people are wimps! Put your hands in ice cold water for as long as you can bare and then they'll warm up.

30 years ago there were less cars, more local jobs and industry and no M25. The demand on cars and roads were very very little compared to now.

Then spend later life with arthritis, genious.

No need to discuss as far as i'm concerned. agree with all the above.
I'm one of few people who have made it in and therefore everyone who isn't here is a pu55y.
For those that are here the big bosses are offering the option to go home early but we have to take it as half day holiday... fook off, i'm staying here, in fact because of this why don't you pay me double time for the effort!
-
We all made it in ! Shame no customers have bothered !
Sat around watching horse in tescos videos

Ha, i watched Dobbin earlier.
-
What made me laugh was people stocking up and panic buying petrol... If they don't think they can get to the petrol station later, then why do they need fuel??!
-
Amazingly practically all the office made it in, except.... yup, the 2 bosses
Apparently they were "working from home".
Sound like they can't be 4rsed more like...
I first drove in snow in a Classic Mini. I REALLY REALLY miss one as they're so much fun!

Can't they just remote desktop their work machines? Make the feckers work no matter what the weather is like or where they are, just like we do
I only closed shop early because the wife is about to drop our sprog and I'd rather be at home with her than 20miles away ! We can all work from home and we rarely get customers come to the office anyway and today with so few customers working ...
-
Well it took me 2 hours to do 3 miles. Normally this journey is 20 minutes. People really can't drive and don't get me started on sidelights with foglights on.
-
winter tyres should be compulsory
-
Rav 4 prices have gone up. :afro:
Took it oyt last night. Accelerates like a rocket on any slippery surface. Just stopping is the issue.
-
Omg! It's been snowing!!!
-
Got let out of work early yesterday drove home, walked down to the pub, stumbled back at some ungodly hour with a kebab.
I am a hero and available for any Arctic expeditions
-
That made me actually lol - great stuff
-
Everything is Fine, i've been from here to gloucester and back this weekend in my Van, and my wifes Driven from here to Yorkshire!
So if she can do it in a beetle everyone needs a big slap of MAN THE f**k UP
-
Brother turns up in a rear wheel drive BMW, plonka spent half an hour getting him off my drive luckly I still have sand dug him out chucked a load and off he went.
Hope he can make it home theres a few hills he is going to go down plonka! :lipsrsealed:
-
managed to drive 100 miles first thing on friday morning when it was all coming down.. no problems at all... :smug:
-
Snow? I just thought it wad the local kids stealing bags of flour and sprinkling it everywhere. Germany copes fine and they get more snow and winter wheels, Russia gets snow and they cope fine, Kazakhstan gets snow on the scale of Russia and they hardly grit anything and cope just fine and people still doing 100mph.
-
I didnt get my new Soundbar due to the weather!
However Tesco have given me £20 refund for the inconvenience!
-
I don't see the fuss people in England assume there is.
It's the same here as it is in any other country. When it first snows and it's fresh, there's delays, once it's pushed to the sides, we carry on - that's exactly the same in other countries.
'Canada don't have these delays on roads and air' - yes they do
'Germany doesn't bla bla' - yes they do
'Norway doesn't bla bla' - yes they do
Just a moaning nation and medial over sensationalizing things, yet again.
-
If you dont sell our salt in the summer to
Canada
Germany
Norway
Sweden
We would be alright :lipsrsealed:
-
We are alright. It's all excuses. There's delays once it's fresh, naturally. Now it's fine.
-
I really can't see the issues.
Okay I happen to have a mini 4x4 this time round with extremely capable tyres but I got about in the Golf just fine. Only thing that annoyed me was the tread pattern is all straight so crap for snow so the fact it takes such fettling to get up to speed agrivated me.
End of our road turn left and a long tight at some points lane totally snowed. Was the best thing ever at first as no one would drive on it. Fresh snow is easy.

Tell that to the drivers of the 4 cars i saw piled up this morning cos we'd had a little frost !
I agree for the most part though, if people drive to the conditions and have a roadworthy vehicle then it's no big deal.
-
I live near Altrincham in Manchester and apart from a little snow last week, we have had none at all!
Looking out my window now and is just like a normal day outside. Is strange seeing most of the country covered in lots of snow. I have friends in different parts of the UK from Scotland down to Cornwall, all have had so much snow, yet we have had none!
Is annoying as my little girl would of loved it.
