Here's the thread buggers is talking about if you couldn't find it. I did buy a 16v for the conversion, but ended up doing that up instead

Since its crimbo
The engine, loom, ecu and exhaust would be all you 'really' need.
You can use your 8v flywheel, clutch and gearbox set up, the gearing will actually make it a little quicker off the mark too.
However, the 8v 020 boxes aren't that great with the lowly 115bhp getting put through them, never mind the 150bhp from the valver but in my opinion i think it should be ok.
Merry xmas

Boss  cheers man, would my shafts and mounts be alright do you know Ben?

My 2L 8v has the 1.8 gearbox on and it makes good difference.

Not going to be a lot in it, find a cheap donor car and swap everything over.

And your point is  given the choice if your going to all the work of fitting a 16v you may as well fit a VR6, same amount of work involved at the end of the day.

Agreed, 16v ABF gets boring in a Mk3 just as quick as an 8v.
PvW on an ABF is still the same as a Saxo, for me its VR minimum.

Minus the noise i wouldnt say a valver is boring. Its the right engine in the wrong car

Stick it in a mk1/2 and youve got a nice setup

Agreed, ABF is spot on in a mk1 or mk2, mk3 is too heavy to be a hot hatch as such.
