Let me no if the video doesnt work and ill sort it after work. Tried to upload it on my phone lol
-
Video works fine
No idea on the noise though. Sounds like metal banging against another piece of metal. Strangeeee. Could it be ice in a little trough rattlign around before melting? :undecided:
-
have you tried pressing the clutch in to see if there's still a noise?
my gearbox seems very rattley in the morning, and it was reconditioned a month ago :undecided:
-
No didnt think of dipping the clutch lol. Ill try that later on.
Just seems to be coming from the cambelt area.
Dont think its ice as it does it on just cold start aswell with out the frost and ice.
Need it sorting asap.

That sounds like the water pump bearings to me.

I hope he is wrong also. Go back to the garage where you had it done and ask to see the invoices of the parts, to make sure that they did actually change the waterpump... :lipsrsealed:

It was a friend of mine who fitted it mate. Hes my machanic and body work specialist lol so i do trust that he fitted the parts.
The parts were non genuine from a local factors but i shud imagine it would still have a good 30/40 k mile guarantee???

It may not be the pump, but does sound like it. Something is definately not right. It could also be alternator bearings though i doubt it. I would take off the aux belt and start the engine and see if noise goes away, if it does you will know its one of the parts run by said belt causing the issue. ( if you see what i mean)

Air con compressor bearings? Is your AC turned on?

Understood mate yes thanks. Prety hard to do tho because it only does it on cold start

Does it only do it for about 90 sec then stop?

I dont no about the 90 seconds mate but it defo only does it for a short time period. Poss till var is warmer.
What u thinking????
-
I was thinking could it be the secondary air pump?
-
mine makes a whirring clicking noise and gets louder depending on time used with higher setting and mode :undecided:

Take the cambelt cover off and check if one of the bolt of the pulley has beocme loose, This happend to a figaro turbo engine, i gave in for recon and when i got it back, i fired it up and it was maing a similar noise to this, and upon inspection, one of the bolt was loose from the pulley.
I was lucky it didnt get in the way of the cambelt and wrecking a newly recond engine :lipsrsealed:
