Wheel curbed, tyre side wall cut, paint marked and oil and dirt on roof from stretching a hose reel over my car to get to the next car along.
3x Pulman VW have had my car 3x it's been damaged
So far new headlight, damaged door card, damaged bumper and grille, reversed into a table and chair and now a new wheel and tyre required
If you value your car avoid these.
-
I hope you read them the riot act?
That's appalling...a call to VW UK I think.
-
They did exactly the same thing to mine. Those Pulman boys really don't care sometimes.
-
VW uk informed, awaiting phone call back from them and manager of dealership. New wheel and tyre will be fitted
Obviously I want 4 wheel alignmemt done now and I can't use car as tyre is damaged so need transport.
-
That's shocking!
I've got 3 years free servicing with Pullmans as part of the deal when I bought the R, doesn't sound like a good deal now tbh.
-
Simon Sumner is the brand manager, I think his name was. He sorted out my new alloy and tyre.
-
Did you spot the damage or did they declare it to you?
-
Shocking. Backstreet garage quality from a main dealer.

Dealt with him when sunderlandreversed my car into an office chair and the bumper was damaged. Durham has a different manager I'm dealing with.
Should get the new wheel and tyre tomorrow.

I spotted it when the mechanic brought the car out. When I pointed at it and asked what's happened there he said you've curbed it. Hilarious. The paint was still hanging on so it was obvious it had just happened
-
That's shocking service...what a absolute disgrace!!

This has made my mind up they are not getting to touch mine,
This is the third bad experience from Pulmans of people i know local. I thought i had had bad experience at a different dealer but not as bad as the experience you have had.
People have accidents and everyones human, aprentices need to learn etc but there is standards Techs use to have to meet back in my day seems standards have slipped.
Maybe we are just extremely unlucky but i doubt it is just that.

If you have the service pack its VWfinance you have the contract with, you can take it to any VW main dealer and have it serviced for free. My pack was bought from Pulmans Durham but it was serviced the past two years at a dealer in Newcastle nearer to were i work.

Hope so, would prefer looker's VW near me to service it as all i hear about Pullman's VW is crap.
-
No offence fella, but if they had already damaged your car on the two previous visits why on earth would you trust them a third time?
One strike and they would be out for me.

Yes Snoopy's right, you can take it to any dealer. Have you had the letter with the Servicing terms and conditions from VW Finance - it should have arrived about 5/6 weeks after buying the car?
And mkviken sorry to hear about your car, to have had that many incidents with the same dealer is appalling.

Yes i did get the letter, didn't pay much attention to it TBH as i had all intentions of getting the service's done at Pullman's but now due to the helpful peeps on here i know better.

One strike and they would be out for me.
the first incident was caused damaging my headlight on the pdi and was noticed when i picked the car up new (screw up 1).
i had to return it to them to give them the chance to fix it (which they didn't, they made it worse - screw up 2).
if you bought a car which was had a small issue when it was brand new you would take it back to the supplying dealer too. another dealership wouldnt take ownership for another companies mistake and rightly so.
i would never take my car back to that branch again for obvious reasons. I actually went through another branch of the same group to get the replacement parts as i didnt want to step foot inside that dealership again. (i fitted the new parts myself as i dont trust them)
the third time (todays incident) was the same dealer group but a different branch (the same branch i used to get my replacement parts last time)
i am now well known to the dealership due to these issues and thought they would be extra vigilant this time with my car but obviously not.
you can tell just to look at my car is obviously that of an enthusiast/OCD/fanny and you would expect the tech to realise i WILL check the car over when i get it back after a service. so why not take extra care?
plus i was sitting in waiting area watching them work on it, as they knew so that would make me extra vigilant but maybe im just different.

Bunch of idiots, just completely disrespectful as people have to work so hard for their cars.
Can only imagine your fuming.

the hose reel to fill the oil and water etc
a car was being serviced off a ramp on the workshop floor on a trolly jack behind my car. to fill the oil they had to either move the car closer to the reel or go route 1 with the hose - my car was in the way so they just went straight over the top of it.
as the car wet with rain and my car is so highly wax'd the water was beaded except for a big dirty/oily S across the roof where the hose had been.
amateurish,

Words cannot explain what im thinking, the lack of respect and stupidity of them doing that is just...
Ive been round the motortrade since a very early age, my uncle setup a large dealership chain, and most my friends and family are still in the motortrade so i get to hear similar stories daily about fitters its simply disrespect and lack of pride by Techs and im sorry but they don't get paid that little compared to what they use to. They should take more pride in there work. Some problems are caused by simply time restictions put on them but common sense and respect by some just seem absent.

Jacked the car up today to double check for damage underneath and guess what?...
Piece of underseal on the lifting point torn clean away and down to bare metal. That's will be lovely in the winter.
Also engine undertray not fitted properly so had to re-do that.
Need to go in tomorrow for a talk with the manager and pick my wheel and tyre up. the wheel they ordered came today but was damaged so had to order another one.
All of this hassle for an oil change.
I'm REALLY sick of the way VW dealers do thing to be honest and think this will be my last. It's a shame as I can't fault the car really.

So how far away is your nearest Mini dealer bud?
-
was just looking at the new JCW GP the other day too...
-
Gutted for you and had similar issues with Hartwells, i avoid the dealer in Oxford for similar reasons and use one (same group) 15 miles away as they do car

Oh I get ear acre about one of those at work. From someone with worse ocd then Ken. The lad at work was not pleased when I pointed out the loose air intake pipe and the missing screws on it after a dealer visit lol.
-
Did you get everything sorted in the end?
-
they had to order 6 wheels (YES 6!) as the first 2 were damaged so they ordered another 4 yesterday to make sure at least one would be OK.
got it today and all seems well with the wheel/tyre and they gave me a good will gesture so no harm done in the end i guess :undecided:.
ive not fitted it to the car yet. if i do fit it it will be after the winter now i think.
i could wait until i need a new pair of front tyres and fit the new wheel/tyre then so i need to just fork out for 1 myself.
i have even thought about getting the damaged one refurbed if possible and selling one of the wheels on.
some nice shiny photo action for the monza faithful

What about the sills?
-
The wanted to put it in the body shop but there's no chance of that so I just touched it up with the stone chip paint and it's come out not bad
-
Glad to hear it as the repair of mine was a bit of a mess.
