mk2 golf g60 conversion, running gear from a rado. has a cable change box think thats o2a?
obviously you cant use the rado clocks as they are mahossive so its got mk3 8v 140mph clocks.
everything seems fine until you get it up in the high revs then the speedo starts going up and down like mad, rev counter is fine and mfa works and milage is fine too.
i dont mind the clocks even though they are not a perfect fit but id like to know why they dont work right.
i can change them if i have to, i also have 2 plug 160mph clocks, 1 plug mk3 16v 160mph clocks and single plug late 8v mk2 single plug clocks.
i believe i can use the late 8v clocks but the speedo id cable driven? i just need some advise really!
-
i also have the digi loom for the late 8v clocks.
-
Any G60's breaking?
-
i wish mate! ill only get clocks in kmh wont i?
-
Yeah unless you find a UK spec Rallye breaking - fat chance!
Swapping over a speedo head is a doddle though, nothing on eBay.de?
-
hmmm i dont think id thunk o that one , ill have a look.
will nothing else work?
-
ze bloody germans have all ze best bits ya! bastid still want a premium for them though!
-
I think you need CE2 (Single pin) 16V 160mph & 7.2 Rev limit clocks..
That's why they fetch over £100 a set...
-
christ! that can wait for a bit then, think im gonna have to sell some bits!

I've had two people looking for a set this weekend alone...
-
so they are pretty rare as well then? how often do you get them in roughly?

Depends on what cars I get in or what I can drop on...
These clocks used to fetch £80.00 10 years ago, so prices have come down as such... Saw some listed on a VR6 thread from way back when...
-
hmmm, ill have to keep an ear t`ground eh? might look at an astra gte conversion, used to love them clocks.

No, for a G60 you want 8v Gti 6k red line clocks.
And 16v clocks sell for circa 20-30 quid.

I'm not starting anything mate. They may be advertised on ebay for £100, but luckily if one removes the 'ebay blinkers' one can buy them for a lot less.
To the OP, as above you can use a cable Speedo with an O2A 'box, have a little search and I'm sure there'll be a thread detailing how.
