I know some people may think it is the devils work changing the wheels from the 18 inch Monza's on the MK6 but ive always love the look of BBS CH's, found a set on ebay, just wondering as to whether they would be a straight fit??
Also not sure on whether I would sell the monza's or keep them so im sure I wouldnt be much out of pocket?
Whats everyones opinion and would I regret?? Not sure anyone has them on the MK6???

Neil GTI has some BBS CH's with some vert tasty VWR Calipers stopping them...
Search for his posts and you see some nice pics.
With regards to keeping the Monza's I'd keep them, it will only help the second-hand price and you'll be able to keep the BBS for another car.

Cheers Jim, thought they might be the wheels he had, I love them but dont wana have a twin or look like im replicating his motor!!
-
I wouldn't worry about that, quite a few have BBS wheels on this forum.

Replicate away, I don't mind

Well with the lights, mud flaps, wind deflectors and BBS CH in black with a silver lip it might look like its twin. Im sure it would look good at some of the shows though!!

You must have taste
Quick tap of the old lowering stick and it will be like looking in the mirror

If I end up getting the wheels I will need to save as I would prefer a remap before I start changing the suspension, plus I wana keep the ACC active right now so maybe some springs and ARB's would do for now.
-
That's the thing the CHs aren't cheap especially when you put decent rubber on,
We're will it all end
-
Well I think the first mod will be the mud flaps, deflectors and the remap from the local place.
Then it will be likely to be pads and discs followed by CH's and like you say where will it end??????

It will not end once you start

At some point I will be changing my Monza's out for some BBS wheels, would love LM'S but as I am not into the whole 'stance' scene I am not sure they would look that good sadly.

But I also really like these 18" CH's I believe..

I also like the CK's in anthracite, haven't a pic of those...
Basically you can't go too far wrong with BBs wheels

We'll see, more than likely get some anthracite CK's
That looks HOT HOT HOT!!!!

See second pic of CH's I have just added, I really need to step away from the internet as I'll end up ordering something I shouldn't

Made me change my mind, I want these wheels, they are sexual!!!!
-
Ride height and wheel width/offset is critical to making these look good, that said if you gt it right as per the car in the pic they look stunning
If your really brave/creative they can carry off coloured centres well too with an accent somewhere else on the car, this really is then starting to get into the whole 'VW scene' thing though which isn't really what this site seems to be about.

Sorry, Monza Shadows for me guys, it was one of the reasons i fell in love with the GTI in the first place. Used to drool over them when near a GTI MK5, have them now on my MK6, wouldn't change them. Really smooth & easy to clean - some of the ABS on show here must be a nightmare in that respect with all the spikes

Yep I feel the same, I wudnt change my monza's for anything, but I very much appreciate how stunning the BBS's wheels look...
-
If you want CK's then get and Edition 30 as they look the same  BBS = nice wheels but dont look quite right on a MK6, need something bang up to date. I agree why would you want to change from Monza Shadows

By up to date, do you mean like Glendales? They're not to everyones taste. BBS's are tried and tested and are right on so many levels without appearing to be trying too hard. Just like a Golf really.
-
Got to agree with dubber, BBS are great quality wheels. "Look out of place on a MK6?", IMO don't think so.

As I said BBS = nice but these make the Mk6 look like an ED30 to me which is no bad thing  However I like the newer style wheels on the MK6 makes it stand out more from the MK5. I really like the Watkins Glen, Talladegas, Glendales, Vancovers and Charlestons for example just MO.
-
I do love the Monza's dont get me wrong and I doubt I would sell them if I could afford to keep them and buy another set of wheels but ive always thought no matter what model BBS wheels have always suited the Golf.
The other kinda style that I like is the jap wheels but unless just full on race style then I think they would look out of place. I must admit another wheel that I think would look good is below....

Super sexy, very light and still easy to clean. The only issue would be I think it would make the brakes look tiny and then thats another ball game!!!
-
Love the wheels on Sunday Drivers car, they look superb.
You still need to sell the, to me though.

They're just sitting in my wheel rack at home waiting for the right buyer!

They look blooming gorgeous
-

They do look awesome, but don't think they'd fit the MK6 though.... or am I being stupid?
-
I am being stupid, the website didn't give me the options to select those wheels..

Have you put the Tally's back on then?
I liked the style of the R with the BBS'
-

I'm just not sure about the anthracite on rising blue Golf plus they're not cheap wheels just to be sitting in the garage.
Might try them on the car again at the weekend and have another look.

Yep, the talladega's have been on for 99% of the time, only really changed them to see what the CK's looked and drove like.
-
do they have tyres fitted?
what sort of £ are you looking for?

Wheels and beauty are a very personal thing but for me the BBS CKs are the perfect wheel for the mk6. They look a lot better on a mk6 than they do on a mk5 for some reason. The CH style wheel looked perfect on a mk5 but don't look quite right on a mk6. I've tried enough styles on my two mk6s now to know what looks right in the flesh so do feel qualified to comment on this!!
The argument about ED35 wheels looking more up to date is valid enough but they still don't have the muscular look of CKs in the flesh and neither do they have the offset to fill the arches properly.
Every time my GTI gets parked up somewhere someone comments on the wheels, young people, old people and everything in between. In fact I'm very nervous about leaving the car anywhere!
TD Pro Race 1.2s also look good on a mk6 in the flesh. Don't spend too much time looking at photos on the internet. You need to see wheels in the flesh as photos don't convey the 3D appearance well.
-
If the monzas were to go, which I doubt I could force myself to do, it would be for a set of blq's
-
Those BBS wheels are the nuts, I want them.....(again)

There is a car configarator on the O.Z wheels with a MK6 Golf, not a GTi but still think it looks pretty good with these wheels...
