Fitted power gasket yesterday massive difference on intake temp and adj timing using unisettings amazing performance pulls like hell. Advanced timing so far by 6degrees and still no pinking so still can go bit more.
-
How did you advance the timing?
-
unisettings, but won't work for us AGU boys as its designed for ME7 systems, we use the bosch ME3.8.x systems
-
so the WMI is working now?
-
I used unisetting but lemmiwinks from revo can be used but with lemmiwinks need comms cable. Ordered maf based progressive controller, throttle spacer flange for 2nd nozzle from usrt in states going dual nozzle. Don't thing clutch going to last too long.
-
so the WMI is working now?
Yep all up and running brilliant, be even better when get proper controller. Only on/off pressure switch at moment not the best but it works ok, just comes in at 12psi.
-
Just fitting the power gasket didn't give you 6 degrees you must have been able to advance before fitting the gasket! Either way it's a good improvement. It would need to drop the iat quite a lot of 6 degrees. If you have it in the turbo you'd be better off upping the boost .
-
Ok may not have read the header sorry, wmi plus PG then yes I see 6 degrees. good work.
Up the boost.....
-
i have a vernier pulley on my agu does that mean i can change the timing?
-
Timing is electronic on the 1.8T, not like a distributor, so its software controlled which is how you advance it
-
WTF are you lot talking about...I'm sure DERV's are far simplier to understand/tune
I get what WMI is ...But what is a powergasket?!
-
A gasket that sits on the inlet manifold made from a superior material that doesn't conduct heat easily, you can get ceramic gaskets and a bunch of other materials, as your engine transfers some of its heat to the inlet manifolds, which are cooled down by the air your turbo is pushing through, which in turn warms up internal air temps.

I see I see. Every day is a school day

Still learning myself mate, bought cracked vag-com on ebay and downloaded unisettings and than have a play. hadn't a clue up to last week. Phoned around everywhere for someone adj my timing, everyone fobbed me off. Got intouch with usrt in america said download stuff yourself and do it easy and staight forward so i have.Cracked full version of vag-com £60 and unisettings free download, just be carefull doing 3rd gear pull on way home tonight on motorway. Only person who'd do it was psi tuning and wanted £200, t-tech wouldn't touch it so i live and learn.

Top effort mate :afro:
I'm still learning how to use VAGCOM on my derv. Don't think you can do as much on a derv as you can on a petrol
-
There's some monster derv's out there just watch them seat leons in touring cars. remember ready some asian lad with 240hp derv with monster torque all costs money tho.

Hold the phone!! When I get my hyrbid 17/22 with a good remap that will be atleast 225ponies with near 400£torque! I'm pretty sure that is a game ender ...A game ender for my most clutches anyway
-
I remember the pod, diesels 300bhp derv vs 320bhp lcr mk2, the LCR left the derv by about two light years, all that money and still not enough. Still good entertainment for the clutch and tires with that torque.

Deisel is dirty.

Nothing to do with the shell that the engine happened to be in? A mk2 compared to a mk4? I bet the derv had too much torque to be able to put it down on an off the line start. From like 30mph I bet the derv would seriously own...
-
both leon's 2.0T, ones a cupra the others a derv.

Sozzzz. Read it as a mk2 with a LCR transplant!
I still reckon a 'rolling start' derv wins...I'd really like to see that!!!
