Haha!

DH is just being a wind up merchant. The GTI is going though and a diesel car is being purchased :( Have a test drive in an Alfa and an Audi tomorrow and will be making placing an order some time next week or the week after.

Bloody diesel :(

Im never going to hear the end of this.

Haha have you still got that!?

Unfortunately this has all come about due to changes in my company's policy on personal cars and the fact that I am in desperate need of the cash from the sale of the MK5. I'm getting a company car so it has to be diesel due to the stupid way the government run how company cars work.

Ill be back in petrol after this 3 year adventure, dont you worry about that :D

Haha thanks for the support there lads.

After my test drives yesterday a descison has been made. The Alfa was lovely however its just too expensive. To get all the bits I want on it the price is just too high. The A3 on the other hand has everything already on it and Audi are still practially giving them away so Ive got some money left over to add quite a few extras aswell. Shall be speaking to the boss mas next week and getting one ordered.

The only problem is they have stopped production of the A3 and are only making the Sportback version which isn't what I wanted but is my only choice.

Too soon to be booking in a remap date? :D

oh dear....

not only a diseasel, but an audi, to make matters worse it must be the most outdated shape of car still being sold today..... and just when you think it couldnt make a worse car, they give it 2 extra doors and make it look like a mini audi hurst. Or worse still an a4 someone stood on. I really feel your pain... will it look the same as this hunchback one??

You know they r bringing out a new version and u can have it by September? But they're still selling the old one but the Audi guy at my garage is saying most people are ordering the new one as by the time u get the a3 old you'll be gutted when u see a brand new one, allbeit they will look the same lol. But supposed to be a lot better to drive?

I like the a3 was looking at them myself but the a1 was a cheaper

Yes the dealer has said that the new A3 is out in September which is why I cant order the current one but they dont have the a Black Edition yet which is the whole point in me getting the Audi as the Black Edition comes speced to the hills and the lease deals they do are amazing. The Sportback wont be replaced till next year.

Just speced up my car now. The extras I've added on top of the Black Edition extras are Lava grey (pearl effect),  black / crimson red napa leather and deletion of engine technology badge.

Does this mean I can look down on VW drivers now?

Does this mean I can look down on VW drivers now?

you certainly can... if you want to laughed at. On a positive note, I hear all a3's now get that new technology that allows them to sit 3cm's from your rear bumper like most other audis.

Why didn't you just get a GTD?

I've owned Golfs for the last 5/6 years now, just wanted something else. I know the A3 is basically the same thing but its still that little bit of difference.

Ah nice work Rhys, didn't realise yours was also lava grey.

FYi this is the black edition

and this is the snazy interior, got a feeling this will be very Marmite.

Only on the diesel VW drivers, us petrol VW drivers can look down on you - for being a two fold shameful sell-out with your full spec Audi Diesel, hang your head in shame young man, hang it in shame!

PS: they are rather nice... in 3 door form.
PSS: Did you order the indicators? Most Audi's round here don't seem to spec those up  :undecided:
PSSS: Least it's still VAG and not a MK6
