haha! I was only thinking about taking up skating again a few weeks ago! I used to go every weekend at one point when I was a 15-16, though never had my own skates. Are they really that much cheaper? How much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking? I was looking on ebay for a cheap pair on the weekend, if I knew they were that much cheaper out there I'd have got you to bring me a pair back

I wish I'd kept it up, skated from when I was 15 to about 24, keeps you very fit

Might have to dig my old skates out and go back down, see if I've still got any of the moves

I've never owned my own skates but used to go every sunday when i was about 18-20. I took my son last wk end to the same ice rink(telford), loved it, only fell over once .
Bad news though, its been shut for the summer for a refit

I had someone skate across my fingers when I used to go, luckily it was a set of hire skates or I may be called stumpy now

I also took a turn wrong one night and came a cropper, landed on my wrist and tore all the ligaments. I couldn't even hold a spoon in my hand for about a month

i fell on my right knee so many times its not funny,it would be all swollen and hurting from a friday nights skating, come saterday night,on the ice again, come monday,i wish i didn't go skating.i remember on the first night the rink opened in my town back in SA,this girl fell and a bloke skating backwards didn't see her so skated over her fingers, blood all over the place, poor thing never saw her again.
