Hi, I have been offered my partners 09-59 black GTD 3dr with 18 inch wheels and parrot bluetooth company car for 8 grand. I cannot have it until Sept so it will be 3 years old when I get it. It will have roughly 60k miles on it. The miles are motorway miles and it has been looked after and it has been serviced with VW at proper intervals. The reason I am asking now is I am thinking of changing cars and if it is worth it, I will wait till Sept for the Golf, if not I will change before then. Also, I do a lot of miles, so it still be worth much if I sell it on again at say 90k miles?
Cheers Paul

Seems a good price, but what other extras do you get? is there leather ect ect...
what are you currently driving?
I wud say wait for the GTD but im being biased!!
-
ermm I have no idea! It doesn't have leather I know that for sure!
I drive a Citroen DS3 HDI white edition, which is great, but I want something bigger and more powerful
-
Well GTD is all that... definitely bigger and what can say about the power, only that it just keeps me
On the DS3 tho there quite smart little motors....i haven't seen a DS3 Racing yet tho....
-
Have to drove the GTD yet?

The THP engines from Peugeot/Citroen/Mini have had loads of issues, I know 2 people who have rejected their racing editions due to the THP engine problems. The racing is also way too expensive at 24k new its silly money for a small Citroen - so thats probably why they are scarce!
I have never driven a golf since my 1st two cars in 1989 a 1.1 golf C and a Golf 1.3 GL which I loved. I have driven a Leon FR 170 tdi which was extremely fast!

You sure it's a GTD sounds iffy to me, maybe it's a diesel GT. If it is a GTD and its legit HPI clear etc, rip their arm off.

Lol, its definately a GTD and legit, my partner ordered it using works scheme and its got an 8 grand final buy price. Like a pcp i suppose!
It has the greeny tartan interior like a gti and the GTD badge so I would hope it is one!
Only a few responses but it sounds good then.
cheers

I'll give you 9k for it then my mate

Buy it...Buy it....Buy it!!!
-
A friend of mine bought a GTI in the same way a mk5 for 8K traded it in for a new mk6 GTI getting 12K for it and the dealer he got the GTI from put it up on the forecourt for 15k.
-
The short answer is YES. Buy it.
At that price you could run it for 2 years (maybe even 3) and still get your £8k back at the end of it!
Bargain!
-
You'd be mad not to buy it.
Either run it for a short time and sell for a profit or just keep it as it will eat the miles. You say you do a lot of miles so the GTD is the perfect car to do them with and any car will depreciate badly with a lot of miles under its belt so it won't stand you any worse long term than anything else that has done a high mileage.

Buy it
Buy, Buy
-
No NO NO!!!! dont buy it!!!
Let me buy it
