got to do a rear wheel bearing tomorrow on a sh!tty little Street KA, just wondering if i can do it without a press... as i dont have 1
cant seem to find a free manual / TIS either
-
Should be able to do it with a chisel/screwdriver and just chap out the races that way and use the old races to put the new ones in. So yeah you shouldnt need a press for the rears.
-
yeah was just going to knock them out and then the new ones back in, not a ford man just doing a FIT female friend a favour

If doing it this way, use wood.
Wood is softer than metal so no hub damage, bearings will come out with a few whacks and you should be able to get them in. Its the way I did it on my polo.

cheers for the advice, should be straight forward, just like to know what ive got to do before i actually do it.
-
I did one a while back and didn't have a press.

If you moved the wood 4 times you could have an Audi badge and move it once more and ya got the olympic rings in the wood.

Ignore my idea, get the wood, make sure its hard as metal. Leave the bearing, no one cares about fords especially a KA. Find the fit bird and bang her with the wood
