GSF do sell gen Bosch ones, make sure they sell you one in an unopened box as they sold me a duff one before that I'm sure was a faulty unit they had taken in as an exchange.

Take a screwdriver with you and fit it in the carpark! That's what I did when I went to gsf, got my surcharge back straight away :)

Its the element inside which is extremely sensitive I believe. That's what fails.

Although you take a chance see if anyone is breaking a golf for their maf.  I bought a bosch maf plus break switch plus wing mirror switch for 25. Oh and the airbox not pipercross filter was thrown in! Mind you, I mainly did it as my maf was aftermarket and I couldn't get a discount so it was worth the chance!

it's not hard to put a non genuine element in a Bosch housing  :lipsrsealed:

(not saying that GSF do this BTW)

I got mine from the local Bosch agent so I know it is genuine.

Actually just realised this was GSF thread . I bought mine in ECP (eurocarparts) so don't know about GSF. I can't see any big chain like gsf or ecp fraudulently selling parts, they sell thousands of parts every week. That's more of an ebay risk, if you ask me.
