For a moment I thought I'd clicked on the cougar thread.
Then I realised this is the necrophiliac's thread.
-
she died everytime she went out on stage for the past 10 or so years...
-
Any one else not chuckle at the irony of the respect thread, made with the complete misspelling of her name
-
What bugs me more is the ridiculous amount of sycophants on the radio and the TV who have come on saying how wonderful she was, despite the fact that her career has been effectively dead for the past 10 years.
Unfortunately she was an accident waiting to happen and I am surprised it took this long. I feel sorry for her daughter and hope she doesn't go to live with her waster of a father.
As per Winehouse, a waste of talent. Still, it seems that to be one of the best, you have to be a flawed genius.

He's dead too, isn't he? Heard he topped himself and as he did it he said 'two can play at that game'

f**k her, the news is a joke, a RAF Regiment soldier dies and goes under the heading "other news" whilst a f**king druggie gets front page about her album sales...
Shame its what people would rather read about...

A tad harsh I would say... Yes she was a druggie. However that was only part of her life, and she did plenty to warrent her success before that period of her life.
Being one of the biggest selling female artists of all time... and a soldier that dies doing what he is paid to do, I think its clear which news the general public prefer to discuss, despite what we may all think thats the reality of the situation.

Good luck with that, I got banned for going against the grain regarding the army, raf etc

RAF Regiment Gunners, Army Infantry, or the Royal Marines know that they are putting themselves in danger by doing what they do, that's purely down to our Government.
Whitney Houstons' demise was down to her own stupidity.
Her, Amy Winehouse, Elvis and anybody else who has led a rich and successful life but then wasted it with drugs doesn't get any respect from me, or will I batter an eyelid or shed a tear at their death.

Some might disagree and we are all entitled to our opinion, but I believe any soldier who dies for this country should be given the respect to at least have one day on the front page of the paper, he paid the ultimate sacrifice yet someone who is selfish and takes their own life with no regard to those around them take the headlines.
I don't want to get into the arguements of whether the war in Afghanistan/Iraq was right or wrong, I would like this country to stand by its soldiers and pay the right respects to those who do die in the line of duty. The worst thing was, the story was not about Whitney herself, but about her poxy album sales.

I dont disagree... It just wont sell many papers, so we wont see it happen.

I know what you mean, sucks doesn't it, but Whitney was famous, the RAF bloke wasn't.

Got to admit both the BBC and Sky have gone overboard with the coverage today , yes show the funeral, but do both of them need to show over 4 hours of it?
I kept turning over from 4pm onwards to see what has been going on today, only to keep seeing non stop coverage of the most embarrassing sing song of a funeral.

How that quote should have read.

Gold hearse. Gold coloured Coffin.
A big "W" in the back window.
Death is always tragic and different cultures express their grief in different ways. I respect that.
But...it's just a tad tacky.
