Title: GTD with and with out flaps (pics)
Post by: Chris.Air on 14 January 2012, 18:56: Hi all, fitted my mud flaps today. I think it looks better with them :-)

Mud Flaps to me fall into a similar category as cheap plastic covers for your iPhone or leaving plastic on your seats (80's style!). Spoiling the looks just to keep it sliightly cleaner for the next owner? I'm also skeptical on their effectiveness anyway. They'll probably stop the heavy muck hitting your sills, but you can bet the sides and rear of the car will still suck up all the road spray anyway.

Post by: mike. on 14 January 2012, 23:30: I took mine off when I was fitting the rear leveller and the car looked really plain without them, so I put them back on.
Seems to look lower and wider from the back, car looking good.. :cool:

I'd have to agree with that. The rears are less important and look less discreet. So take 'em off and allow your rear tyres to splatter crap all over the BMW six inches from your rear bumper. :lipsrsealed:
