I'm building a website for a local lad who is starting up his own business. The site is nearly finished and I'm trying to find any bugs/errors as well as trying to gather feedback.
I'd appreciate it if you could spare a couple of mins to flick through the site and let me know:
a) What you think.
b) Any errors you come across
http://www.onlychargeddubs.co.uk/ (http://www.onlychargeddubs.co.uk/)
The only problems I am aware of are:
- Contact form not yet working.
- No real content on the 'Services' page.
Thanks in advance

on home page should it not say
here at ocd we specialise in turbo an super charged vag cars, both petrol and diesel instead of
We specialise in super and turbo charged and charging VAG cars, both petrol and diesel

Could do with a bit of colour and the text is a little small
-
OK seeing as you asked and no offence. I think there's too much white border so makes the site look quite sparse. I don't like the first sentence on the home page as it just doesn't read right (the bit about the super and turbo charging bit  ) to me and I think the letter font is too small and pretty boring looking. I don't personally like the "~" next to the top links either.
On the plus side I love the G-Lader being the O in the acronym. I like the acronym too. :afro:
-
Home page could do with more colour and most of all a better pic,A picture of what looks like they work out of a council garage will portray a one man bad jack of all trades kind of image.
-
Cheers for the feedback so far.
With regards to the first sentence, I've been given all the text to put onto the site. I'll put it to him that it may need to be reworded though.
Text size is being looked into, looks fine on my screen - but then that's the whole point of testing the site

The client wants a simple, clean-cut site. Black & white theme is what he asked for

Again, this is what the client asked for

Cheers for all the comments so far....keep them coming! I'm more concerned with the functionality of the site rather than the aesthetics, i.e. ease of use, any broken links, images not being displayed etc.

As said, the text is a bit small.
Also, on the 'our services' page, I don't really like the boxes that the different services are in, I think they could be a bit more fitted to the actual words, although I'm sure it'll look different once the info on the services is added.
Other than that I like it, nicely done!

The font in the boxes needs to be adjusted as it doesn't match the rest of the site. There will be images alongside text when the boxes expand so hopefully that will make them look like they fit in a little more!
If anyone wants to 'Like' him on facebook and help spread the word it will also be appreciated, he's a quality guy and the work he does is to a high standard

I quite like the site, it is nice an clean, the wording needs re-doing as said.
An first things first he needs to get down his charger servicing details and pricing, thats the thing people will really want. This is the guy that was recomended to me for getting my charger sorted, the reason i went with jabba is because without a site, id essentially be sending off an expensive item to a dude in a garage.
'Bricks an clicks' builds confidence, i'll certainly have a look next time!

As said the text is too small (about the right size when I put it on a 42" tv screen) other than that I think it looks good :afro:

^^ Too true
Topher said that he recommended him to you :afro:
All of his prices and services will be on there by the weekend

What about a small link to this forum somewhere?? :lipsrsealed:

Brutally honest now, I think the whole thing is crap, and I certainly wouldn't want any of that representing my business...
OCD logo is desperate, and over complicated, I had to zoom right in to see the text on the logo, I'd dump it, its a little bit 5 years ago!
Options along the top are not evenly spaced, and text is too small, as is the rest of the text, and get shot of those little scrolls, just a nice thin black line under the text would look so much better, and help break the page up
And this....
"We specialise in super and turbo charged and charging VAG cars, both petrol and diesel. The main specialism being the G60 and G40 engines, carrying out all modifications and tuning, servicing and of course those all important G-Lader rebuilds.
That said every other dub is more than welcome, if your just looking for a dealer quality service to a full restoration or engine conversion we cater for all.
We have full dealer diagnostic and workshop equipment and books so anything that's worrying you about your dub feel free to post up a question"
Looks like it was dreamt up, and composed by Vicky Pollard!
Borders look very empty, and really do need a little colour in there somewhere, or, expand the pic, and maybe a nice Black/White pic instead, that shows a lot of car, instead of the inside of a garage!
Maybe something like this... but bigger!

No offense intended

H&S in the work place.
Audi TT piccie, one stand, one trolley jack  with the spare stand just sat next to the car  with exhaust removed.

Don't know if its just me but the Facebook box doesn't open down enough its really narrow. Also needs to be more professional as mentioned above.

Noted & added to the list of possible amendments

The facebook box was designed like that to try & eliminate scrolling on the webpage. There is no real need to see more than 1 or 2 comments, the purpose of the box is to make people aware of the facebook page

Very brave of you posting up BTW, hope you get it sorted

 I was fully aware there was going to be criticism, if I couldn't take it then I wouldn't have posted! I've got a revised home page which I will post in a few mins for some feedback!

Thoughts on this please:

Page is wider, allowing for a larger font size. Button spaces are amended and '~' removed, image changed and text re-worded. I'll upload the page in a bit so you can view it in a browser.

Cheers Jamie, the picture will be changing though....going down to the unit tomorrow morning to get some snaps there

Prices will be very competitive, I *think* his labour rate is £20 per hour. I will confirm this later when I get the e-mail containing his full price list

Already on it, just need to re-upload the pics :afro:
