broke drivers door handle replacing the switch for the electric mirrors, mind you enough is already broken on it! whole exhaust leaks, windscreen is cracked, the rear axle bushes are fooked, rear dampers are shot, anti roll bar has been cut, wheels are curbed beyond recognition, hole in floor pan under drivers feet, sills are rusted away (inner and outer) and the floor pan has been pushed up on both sides at the front where it has rusted then been jacked up, rust hole in drivers door on the bottom at the front. paint was the only good thing on it until the front and back wings were keyed.
-

well i left my car last on the drive this morning as i was getting the train in, so my sister has to move my car, she can never get my car into gear (reverse or first ) so dread to think
-
hmmmm thousand posts anyone this could take a while......
gearbox went on my daily last tuesday so this got abandonned and the mk1 pulled out of hibernation, managed to get the mk1 started after copious amounts jump lead action but it will not tick over no matter what!
had a proper look around it and the carb rubber was split, put a new one on still no joy, would run but only with half choke on. Then choke cable snapped which left me under the bonnet everytime i wanted to start it.
took carb off completely stripped it all cleaned all jets out still no joy
came out to it this morning to find the passenger footwell 2 inch deep in water, and 2 inch of snow outside the car. needless to say no amount of cranking in the world was gonna start it and i had to resort to the tram!!
so there you are! cant wait to get my daily back on the road and the mk1 tucked up safely back in garage ready for the transplant

Well Saturday anyway, headlight bulb blew. Halfords bulbs are shocking, they last zilch time at all. So replaced it in Bluewater carpark with a spare standard lamp, with one 90w bulb and one normal bulb it looks a bit odd.
I soon realised my mum was right and it's not as quick as it once was. Quickly realised it was the throttle cable and realised it was too far in and for some reason has an adjusting clip missing. So used some little cable clamp to "fix it" except it's idling a tad high due to the throttle being open and mum doesn't like the fact the throttle is right up top.
So will be looking at the GTI for a clip tomorrow.
-
So replaced it in Bluewater
is it bluewater shopping centre they go to in the inbetweeners when will goes on a date with the tall girl
-
Not really me breaking it but one of the fuel hoses decided to split and dump half the contents of the fuel tank around the engine bay! Better now than on the M6 on Saturday lol
