Title: Free Health Check from the stealers
Post by: pickles on 13 December 2011, 12:32
emailed the stealers last night about getting a free health check done, got an email in this mornin asking when i would like it booked in :), takes bout 30-40 mins. think every1 should take advantage of this as im sure it would save ppl alot of money on diagnostics and the like ;)

I don't think it's really worth a donald duck to be honest.

They probably plug into the OBD and have a glance and kick a tyre. I had one on my car when they did the coils and they said it was fine even though there were a few issues that I know about.

Bollocks to that. They'll give you a list as long as your arm and a estimate of 2 grand :lipsrsealed:

exactly what happend to me even thought intotal the parts only came to about 300-400?,
They also said most of them were dangerous and should be done staight away, even though about 4months on i still have to do a couple of bits and it all seems ok (touch wood) lol

still good to know though as you can get the bits done either yourself of when u feel u need to :afro:

Doesn't have to be vagcom and that's not all, they probably check some mechanical things too.

they go over it with a fine tooth comb, checked bushes, engine leaks, anything im preey sure. I think they did a good job of findings bits that were affecting my car was jsut the price of parts and labour that put me off

Most wipers out there on peoples cars are substandard. It doesn't take long for them to deteriorate. Winter kills them.

The problem is they find "faults" with things that dont really need doing ie :

"Your brake discs are worn X amount below manufacturer's specifications and have a lip in the edge",

which is probably true comparing it to a brand new disc but x amount below is normal for any part worn disc and depending on your mileage they will probably be fine for years.
