We've narrowed my missus' first car down to a grand total of TWO choices.
Choice number ONE!
(http://pictures2.autotrader.co.uk/imgser-uk/servlet/media?id=1863251087) - a 90,000 1.4L Corsa
OR
(http://pictures2.autotrader.co.uk/imgser-uk/servlet/media?id=1862094068) - a 90,000 1.0 Polo
Insurance is practically the same, economy is similar. It's going to come down to two more things...
Reliability, and poke.
Please decide the winner!
-
mmmmmmmmmm,
corsa looks decent enough,
polo will be VERY gutless, any motorway or dual carriageway journeys and it will be pants
so the insurance is similar despite 400cc difference ?

Yep, about £50 over the year... :undecided:

well to be fair its down to DRIVER choice, they will both have known issues, pros and cons for both. but for a first car, and with any car that ages you REALLY cant say which will be the most reliable.
Get them driven, and which ever she is most happy with, BUY.

Suppose so.
Although, ther interior in the Corsa is

I'd go for Corsa just for sheer spare parts, fixing costs, bigger engine. The polo is a little bigger, probably less rust prone but the engine kills the deal for me.
You can probably buy a new interior for pennies!

Both me and my missus. Thing is, she's on a super tight budget and wants the best she can get for her money.
I managed to find these after hours of trawling through the interweb, and I really cannot decide (neither can she.)
So we just wanted other people's opinions.
-
send me ur budget and location

What the... Looks like someone's recycled an 80's shell suit
-
nought wrong with shell suits :lipsrsealed: I've got a pair on now :smug:
TBH I don't want to say it, but Corsa parts are going to be readly available and even another new set of seats and door cards would be eaiser to get hold. Thats it from me for the Chuff homage!
-
 another GM convert, about time we had a vauxhall section
-
I find the 6ns horrible to drive so would probably go for the corsa, but I'd go look at both and buy on condition etc
-
why aren't you looking for a 1.4 polo?
-
why aren't you looking for a 1.4 polo?
Insurance is really high mate
-
lol fair enough. makes no sense that a 1.4 corsa death mobile is cheap to insure but a safer better made polo 1.4 isn't!
-
-
cant remember from your other list, but have you considered a spot of skoda action, if not then you need to consider them, and as if by magic, close enough to view

-
hate to say it, but even with the interior ide go for the corsa.
bit more poke. and as said parts are going to be more readily available, countless corsas in scrappys, but ive only ever seen one or two polos in scrappys.
and you can always get seat covers for the corsa :D
now you have a cristmas present idea too, two birds one stone :D
-
and how about a spot of dark pumpness

That second Skoda looks alright and essentially underneath it's a Polo.
I've owned a 6n Polo and found it good to drive. I've also driven a friends Corsa of that age and wasn't impressed with it.
My 6n Polo was a 1.4 and plenty nippy, well built both inside and out.
If they are around the same mileage, check out the service history and see what's been done, drive them both.
Have you looked at the Spanish equivalent?

Super high insurance
-
oh well, Looks like its Corsa time then, deffo need a Vauxhall section.
-
What engine in the Corsa?
Late or early one?
Feel cheap as crap inside but if it's the better 1.4, I'd prefer the extra poke ADL, 1l Polo's are nippy enough for a town commute but I think I'd commit suicide once I got out of the traffic.
What's up with all the Pauxhall owners? Reccession has got bad.
