Was told a while ago this stuff is bad for tyres.
Is there any truth in it?
-
No, just dont use it on the tread
-
it keeps the tyres in good condition and prevents cracking (from what i understood anyway)
-
as said, they contain silicones i believe that can cause 'slipperyness' to the tread, but they do add protection on life to the tyre walls
dodo juice tyromania has had really good reviews, but at £20, if you dont want to spend that much, meguiars endurance gel with applicator pad come in at £15 jointly

autosmart highstyle comes in cheaper per/litre and can be used for a variety of trim :)
-
As Guy has said highstyle comes in cheaper and can be used on plastics aswell as rubber, very economical product, little goes a long way.

SV pneu is the only one i use til now and is water based with no silicone. Im not a fan of Silicone dressings but when you are cleaning 50 plus cars a day then it has its uses. AS is the one everyone l know likes. But for best then SV pneu

i used to use SV pneu on private cars and high end details... very good, if not expensive product

I dont think i wrote it like that guy. I think it says= Im not a fan of Silicone dressings but when you are cleaning 50 plus cars a day then it has its uses. HTH Sorry if my post confused, misled you in any way shape or form. So to clear it up i like SV pneu for best as its water based and if you need a cheaper good quality dressing for tyres then Autosmart do a nice one. Again my applogies Guy!!

That is one lovely looking Golf, it's a shame you use Turtle Wax on it
Only kidding, car looks ace though
-
yep i never thought i would use turtle wax to be honest but the nano tech stuff seems to gets good reviews. plus even if its rubbish its only tyre side walls i would be experimenting with!
all my other stuff is meguiars, autoglym and poorboys which all seem good stuff.
used NXT generation tech wax spray tonight for the first time and it came up pretty good and only took 20 minutes to do the whole car.
-
Chemical Guys New Look trim gel always does the job for me. Tenner a bottle but it lasts years and years and years!

I'm a great believer in Turtlewax. It's good basic stuff and got me into valeting and detailing. I now use Poorboys, but I still have a soft spot for it - good and cheap, repeatable results, and I suggest it to everyone who asks about valeting - usually because they've seen the rain beading off my car in the car park and want to have it do that on their own car.
Then I corrupt them with engine degreasers and vacuum cleaners, glazes and sealants
-
end of the day its only stuff to make your tyres shiney so why pay a fortune for it anyway?
i like to have decent polish and wax for the body and wheels but tyre dressing is tyre dressing really.

Meguiars gel or good old AutoGlym for me.

Another one for Autosmart highstyle. Use a paintbrush to apply. Leave over night and that it. A good 1-2 weeks of dark side wall
