Hi I am sure so of you know me both personally and proffessionally from the past.
Just a quick note to say the VW side of things is now no more just done a deal with a guy for all our old stock.
It was a great couple of years. Loved dealing with so many golf owners talking about them helping people with choosing parts etc.
I still own two golfs myself and will continue to do so.
Its just a thanks for all the business note
and also a warning to other would be breakers with out a breakers liecence they will catch up with you they will stop you.
Breaking your own car fine, breaking a car for profit is a big no no believe me
-
did someone get caught ??

did someone get caught ??
This???....
Also
If Joe Bloggs wanted to break a car at his home for profit, the odd one now and again, do you reckon it would go unnoticed? Or is this a massive no no?
-
sad day mate

breaking the odd car theres nothin wrong with but if you have 3 coming in a week and them all being scrapped its a bit  suspicious
-
Shame you're getting out of things - I've heard nothing but good reports.
SO if there was an errant pikey doing this sort of thing in one's local area, which agency would one need to speak to, to get them shut down?
I'm sure such a move made locally would delight a few people on here.
-
Is a shame, i remember bloody ages ago when i got a spoiler off you for my first mk3 you said it was getting harder and harder due to fee's involved nowadays!

DH. This is controlled and eforced by the Environment Agency. You need a waste management licence and permit for controlled waste. Also a Hazardous waste licence. If you break cars for profit without these its a VERY serious offence. In my line of work I ensure clients have all the necessary permits. If you don't:

And this would apply to Joe Bloggs doing the odd car say once every couple of months?

That's a shame Rob, you were very helpful in getting me a rad fan for my first MK2 at a good price. Good luck with what ever you decide to do next :afro:

Well for me, nobody should be breaking golfs of old especially mk1 and mk2's... just stop doing it.. keep them alive :)

No, only later models like 3's and 4's to give new life to tired 1's and 2's

That all seems like large scale stuff though, people with sites and no permits.....
This - people who've made a career out of it, rather than scum who are busily supplementing their benefits with it.

What I was trying to get at is this... I always fancied breaking the odd car, some spares for mine, sell the rest and weigh in the shell. Is that a problem?

Depends on your neighbours think, just one car would not hurt tbh.

Well i'm more concerned about trouble with the law as my neighbours are spot on and know I'm tidy.

I cannot see one car making much difference / causing a problem.

thanks for the kind words I am touched, we stopped breaking golfs main stream about 4 years ag. Yes we were caught! although didnt know we were breaking the law at the time as all the shells were disposed of correctly through a local scrap yard had had destruction certificates for every one of them. We then started on second hand cars but still had stupid amounts of parts left and through people on here, two Gti International shows and local vags fans been dwindling away.
So made the choice to sell it all as a job lot
When we did break em most of what was broken was either police recovery ie not allowed back on the road cat C or Cat D and lets be honest no true fan would want one of these or major rot boxes. Recall one Corrado actually had papermache in the sills.
Regards to breaking the "odd one" it is still against the law only car you can legally break is your own ie its failed an mot and you are trying to recoup some money from it. However what you do is down to you
Thanks for al the kind words. I am still a member on this forum and have been since before the business started. As long as I own a golf (no plans for an audi just yet) I will still add my support have a laugh at the joke page and offer advice where I can.
DH: I wonder who on earth your on about  also broke more MK3 Golfs than anything else you will be pleased to hear

Thanks for your help with my Rallye over the years and all the best with whatever is next :)
-
Is it not possible to start all over again calling it 'not breaking anything at all including escorts, officer?'
Sorry to hear about that Rob, what's next for you?
-
Thanks for your help in the past Rob, I hope your next move works out for you

seconfd hand cars has been for last 3 years www.necarsales.co.uk although a little short on stock atm. This is just the end of the VAGside of things on wards and upwards although alot harder to sell a complete car than sending it across the four corners of the country in boxes lol

Funnily enough I had looked at your page via Autotrader, specifically at the Honda  :lipsrsealed:

It would be quite funny to nail that on him, especially as he seems to be more active than ever (although not obviously on here).
