eh?

eh?
I believe your cohort is suggesting what you were actually looking for was less 'mainstream'.
The car mings. Rear windows look hideous and way out of proportion.
-
That's just perfect.
-
i like that very cool

Meh.... I was looking for something to do with my car and that came up.
I think ming is a bit harsh. It reminds me of Fords attempt at this with a mk2 escort which in comparison was far more hideous and almost hearse like ( I used to like them too once!) . Admittedly the rear windows are out of proportion but comparing them against the fronts including the quarters they're actually not too far off, unlike the escort.

Considering this is some dude in his garage I think he's done cracking job. I think it would be better judged as a complete car/finished item. If I was looking for something less mainstream, I certainly found it.

Polo breadvan-tastic.

And then some...........
It's so much better than a polo breadvan.
Nice one Wherry... I fear this project died and was never finished.

My mum had a white mk2 escort estate. Had when I was Cubs/Scouts. Used it for carrying canoes (on the inside!)
I have fond memories as a teenager of another Mk2 escort. I used to rally drive it through the forrest (you ain't seen me, right) much rear wheel drive fun!
Then my so called friends set fire to it when I was on holiday.

 My mum had one too but never learnt to drive so my dad used it to carry their band gear around, he loved it.
Yes, one of the plus sides of old Fords that I miss, RWD.
This mk1 should have a RWD conversion!
I hope your so called friends didn't do that on purpose!

Thanks but link already posted on the first page of this thread.. Just a shame it hasn't been updated since last year and loads of pics are missing... Also it's not the actual build thread and still hoping that it will pop up if anyone finds it (if there is one). Might of never finished it...

:embarassed: missed the link on the 1st page.
OK then here another link with a few more pics (I think) http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4890848-Jetta-Wagon-Build&highlight=jetta+wagon

Yeah I think Wherry posted the pics on the previous page, those pictures are older than that post I believe.... looks like it was really taking shape then too... so want to see it complete.

Mad isn't it, plenty of odd cars have been done like that.. one that I always found interesting was this Audi hard top conversion where it carries it's roof in the back.

That Audi Quattro was built by Treser, I have it in a book at home they built 8 to 12 in total I think.

I posted the latest pics up that were uploaded to photobucket.
