hi i have just bought a AGU engine and fitted it into my golf only to find one side of the ECU harness doesn't fit my AGU ECU.....any suggestions?
-
are you using the same loom, from which you have put the engine in
-
different ECU's completely.
AGU Bosch 3.8.3
AUM Bosch 7.5
It can be done to get the AGU to work on the AUM ECU loom however, bit off a fiddle re-wireing. I did have a pin layout somewhere. If I find it I'll post it. One thing I am unsure off is if the MAP on the AUM ECU would need editing to blank out the VVT which is found in the AUM as the AGU doesn't have VVT.
-
yea i have got the car start and running on the AUM loom and ecu....however i have no power and its back firing like crazy...i was thinkin to put the vanos on the engine..will dat do any help?
-
are you using the aum throttle body too?.. what about the map sensor and intercooler?.. there are loads of differences in the engine set up which would need to be transfered over not just the ecu and loom..
-
You could chuck the vanos across, I can't see why not. However I'm not sure how easy/fit it will be, I'd imagine it should fit across though.
Obviously due to using the AUM loom, remember you need both the AUM TB present, both MAP sensors etc, so you will have to plumb the engine in the same fashion as your AUM block was, I imagine you know this since you're doing this.
-
well tbh honest its my first time doing this so im not really sure....ye im using alot of things from my aum engine such as loom coil packs etc etc....the original prob was when finished fitting the AGU engine, i was fitting the ecu but the left side loom connector was a diff size how can i resolve that...?

Change the loom :undecided:
-
Replace plug with correct one and rewire it accordingly would be my guess.
-
thanks for the advise....but does anyone no who has had this problem before
-
you`d probably need the pedal box from the aum too...
-
His car is an AUM he is just putting in the earlier 1.8T engine, so he has all the AUM plumbing and wiring present, just he is trying to make everything work with AGU engine in place.
Be interesting how it work as I wanted to put a 7.5 ECU into my AGU which is more work.
-
ah right, then if all the ancillaries are in place then it should work?... would the vvt unit fit into the agu head?. what about the injectors ect?.. it would probablt need an agu map to run right?..
-
thats what im trying to find out but im using my AUM coil packs which i dnt want to do....so i would need the agu loom.....if i put the AGU throttle body back on would i need a diff pedal box...?
-
Not sure if the venos can be thrown across, I've got no idea on any knowledge off the 1.8T engines and the head, blocks etc they are made from. If this was a polo 6n, I could have a field day as everything works with everything between the different engine codes and sizes, its like lego with a bit of maths.
He could block the VVT out with a resistor as R-Tech have suggested, but my knowledge is very little on these engines, especially when the 7.5 ECU confuses the hell out off me when looking for all the different maps and there locations.

Going by one of the ECU forums I use you have to use the DBW TB as you can't exclude the DBW cables.

Some more info, this is for AGU cars going to 7.5, which is what you are doing backwards, your putting an AGU into a 7.5:
I do few swaps from AEB/AGU to ME7.5 , you need:
*ecu
*harness
*coils
*for AEB only cam wheel (because few use only one hole wheel)
*acceleration ped.
*map sensor
*throttle body
*wideband lambda sensor
*maf or go mafless setup..
My guess is you ignore the whole VVT with the AGU and jut map it out or just short with a resistor if possible :undecided:

Any news or progress with this, as I'm interested to know how it comes out.
-
well to be honest mate i want the full agu setup as i have heard its the best setup with a gt2860rs kit
soo im trying to fit my agu engine into my aum but the agu ecu wouldn't connect to the over wiring loom...i have now realised my best bet is to strip the loom and fit it with a agu loom...
-
Let me know if you plan to sell the AUM ECU and Loom as I may be intrested
-
i will be selling the AUM ECU the loom mate is not very good got couple bits missing
-
Let me know what you have available
