right my old man thinks he needs another car to add to the 3 he`s already got, and wants a diesel touareg preferably the 5.0 v10
is there any known problems/faults on them that he should look out for?
it`ll only do a few thousand miles a year.
just trying to get some info on them so all ideas would be gratefull

no advice but if you put 4tonnes of sand bags in the boot, inflate the tyres to max you
will be able to pull a boeing 747...
no joke either

I'm looking into one of these at the moment, believe it or not, its a toss up between a Touareg and an Amorak?

We have just bought a 59 plate se v10 touareg on our website Cheltenham Volkswagen. I took it out today with a customer what a machine! Think golf r32 pace in a tank.

kessy modules on the earlier ones can be temperamental and expensive to fix. They have 2 turbos which are around £1600 each if they go boom

cheers toph

From the buying guides I have read the V10 TDI is the one to avoid.

I am sure DH posted about starter motor and timing chain issues a while ago :undecided:
-
What the torque figure?
-
VAG tech I know says any mechanical job on the engine and it's engine out, because it's so tight in there.
e.g. - new alternator = engine out.
Epic motor, mind.

cheers for the info dh,
i`ll give him the good news

is it me or is a 5.0 v10 diesel a pointless motor???
why not go for the lesser petrol

You'd have better grip if you don't inflate the tyres to max.
