i dont know much about these mate but that looks mint
-
Its good at the price. The problem with 300bhp and auto transmission equals terrible fuel consumption.
What is yours like Brad?
-
Nice miles and great price IMHO
-
Cheers Doc.
Its fairly close to me as well :undecided:
-
the ad says its had the cambelt changed 10k ago

It would need to be done as its 10 years old.

I just got 205 miles from £30 of V power. this included all kinds of driving styles

No its the 30v V6 engine out the Audi, 193bhp, not the vr6 12 or 24v lump.
So yes, its got a belt.

That's pretty good. The more you tune it, the worse it will get
-
ah wasnt sure there mate suppose it saves you doing it if you buy it

Over 40mpg, must have been rolling down hills
-
was motorway driving mostly, clocks deffo said 205, may have been some fuel already in the tank...
another one:
it did the journey to carbon and back to leeds (around 55 miles each way) and a full day on the rollers at carbon.
On the way home it was driven hard and was ust touching red
i put £30 V power in before i set off and it was on max red
its pretty good on fuel, seems better than the old 2.slow lump

The passat is a lot of car for the money :afro:
-
ONLY 193bhp? Bit poor :(
Non the less it looks a mint motor, and at that price as Roy would say, its riiiiiiiiight.
-
Sleeper  i always wanted this though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZKab5ikAFo&feature=related (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZKab5ikAFo&feature=related)

Yes you will be a sleeping while your driving  only 9 seconds i thought they were quicker than that!!!!
-
The W8 does 0-60 in about 6.5 seconds.

Why is that poor?
Nearly 200bhp for a family car is pretty respectable

Just expected a bit more from 2.8L V6. Dont fancy a 1.8T Passat that will map to more than that and return considerably better MPG? Just thinking out loud here. Only plus side I can see to that is the 4motion.
-
And its a V6

Its a proper 90 degree V6, so its going to have alot more low down torque than a 1.8T or even a VR6.
Its also got a proper 4 wheel drive system, not the haldex unit

That's only peak power, not actual real power you'll get. It's the torque that's important and you'll get more proper torque from the 2.8l
-
To be fair i would be interested in 1.8T if it was 4 wheel drive, but its not available in that model.
-
i bet the tourque figures are not that different than the vr engine
-
Not sure about 24v vr6, but the 12v vr6 torque peaks at 4200rpm, on a genuine v6 the torque peaks out at about 3200rpm.
This is when you really feel the power kick in.
-
Very Tidy & i like it

Have a look for Skoda Octavia you get them in 1.8T 4WD

True, but they are horrible and tacky looking compared to the Passat (imo).
Would much rather pay the higer fuel bill than drive one of them (Im so far up my own arse its untrue).
-
Fully agree, but a remapped 1.8T + 4x4 = for not much money
-
Thanks for the links Jay.
I agree they really are silly money, the other thing i was looking at was a skoda with the v6, but these are rare.

Firstly i don't want an auto, and secondly the point of selling the audi is i don't want something that is just as thirsty
But it is nice
-
I wanted a v6 syncro ssat before buying the current 1.8t.... The v6 was a fair bit slower but it went round corners much better (rather than screeching the front tryes and going straight on!!)
If someone wanted to swap a v6 for my turbo then i wouldn't say no

Is that a v6 versus a mapped 1.8T?
