Title: Smashed apple MacBook pro screen

Might be good for the apple haters but the miss's moved a mirror tonight and rather than breaking it dropped it on my £1700 laptop smashing the screen to bits!!!

Lucky im drunk or she'd be in hospital and I'd be in jail!!

Gutted.

It's gonna cost a bomb to get fixed!

Have you got Applecare? iirc it covers accidental damage...

Depends if they can replace the screen.... house insurance? i have gadget cover up to £3000 it doesnt count as a claim only once a year

Just taken out house insurance (only moved in a month n half ago) wich I covered the laptop as a gadget for more than a grand (£1700) so that's a opition. I don't have apple care (epic fail)... I've been all over the world with this laptop and not lost/broke it now at home one move BANG! Lol.

House insurance has new for old and gadget insurance, hope this is the same thing and not a claim!

Apple Care doesn't cover damage, it's just an extended warranty.

if i remember correctly a screen should be around 300 or so to replace. You can alternatively get a large monitor and use the laptop as a desktop computer. just connect laptop to said monitor.

I dropped a TV on my iBook G4 back in the day and replaced the screen with a screen from an iBook with a dodgy bottom end.

Yea. It boots it can't tell if it gets anywhere gonna see if anything can be recovered

I had something similar (to the screen, not the body)

Paid £400 for the screen. Pretty easy job. Looks like you'd need a new main casing also how ever.
