Right im starting a new thread as ive now made the move from my 8v mk3 Anniversary to a Gt-tdi.
A little about the car well its a 2001 115bhp model in a nice metalic grey shes had 3 owners in total and a stamped service book upto 100 odd thousand. Its covered 138,000 but the engine pulls really well and the mpg is awsome. As when you first get a car all the things you missed when viewing it kinda pop up  and you think how did I miss that  Ive started a list of things that need sorting and I thought my mk3 was bad
Hand brake is high needs adjusting its just had new discs and pads all round.
Took the engine cover off and it looks like the rocker gasket is leaking by where the EGR valve.
My clutch pedal feels loose as in the pedal slightly moves clutch etc fine.
Every now and then I hear a kinda clicking noise on the drivers side when driving over bumps it sounds like the pads not sure.
Needs a new arm rest as the old ones broken.
The dash trim bits and door handles look a bit tatty so Im either gonna carbon wrap them or replace them with some new ones
Horrid rear spoiler is being removed shortly
Few dings and scuffs on the body but its nothing to bad front bumpers got a few stone chips so ill have the painter sort that.
Mods on the car
FK angel eyes which are black inside
Miltec exhaust think its just the back box
V6 four motion rear lower valence
Not sure if the front spoilers different
Euro front wipers
mk5 rear wiper arm
Planned mods
Well I tryed my TT Comps on the car and they just looked lost  I think im gonna go for some 18" wheels
Coilovers and lowered a must
A Recaro trim as mines not Recaro
and maybe a Remap as im not sure if mines had one tbh the guy reakons it has but im not sure.
I havent got new pictures yet and I still havent even cleaned it just havent had any time

-
Yeah there nice very simlar to mine but mine look like they have more black inside.Ive been looking at a few different things for mine gonna cost me a few quid but all in good time.Ive been looking at RS6 alloys really like them on mk4s.
-
Tryed the comps on and as you can see they look lost  reason I think 18" are in order..

-
another dark pumper
-
at least this one's a vw
the tt's look good imo, just need a small drop
-
I saw a mk4 with comps on yesterday actually. That had been lowered, but still didnt look all that. Dont get me wrong it was ok, but not exactly eye catching. Deffinately need 17s or 18s possibly to make em stand out.

Think it will look fine with some coilovers on. I haven't seen many in this colour looks really good! What the colour called?
-
General rule on the edition mk4 thread is noohing smaller than a 17. Always think the merc amg 5 holes loom good on these.
Also be interested in how it goes as I keep looking for a darkpumper, but kept looking at the pd130,s which were a shed load more to buy.
-
The TT Comps would look ok with better / correct size tyres. :afro:
-
Im not sure of the colour but it is one of the reasons I bought it even though it needs a few bits paint wise. The wheels would suit it more if it was lowered and as Wayne said bigger tyres but I need to draw back as much money for my mk3 and ive decided to leave them on that as they suit it well and a good selling point on the car.I am trying to buy some genuine Audi RS6 alloys which im hopeing wont make lots of money but ill have to see.Today though I did do my first mod  the heater control panel was a bit tatty so I tryed some carbon wrap on it and it didnt come out to bad lol.Ive also ordered a new set of inside door handles as mine are scratched etc.Im gonna throw some heat at the rear spoiler tomorrow see if I get any movement lol.Still loads to do but I do enjoy it tbh I was also shocked at how much my tax was for 12 months £125 that really pleased me and she is averaging round town about 46 to 48 mpg  thanks for the comments and a few piccys still havent washed it

That looks mint mate love the wheels sits nice?Did you have to do anything with the anti roll bar as im not sure how low you can go with out messing with the arb on mk4s.Love it though nice motor
-
It was lowered when I got it m8 , its on coilovers , but i have had no issues
-
That height looks spot on I think thats the kinda height ill go for and thanks for the name of the colour
-
Did you have to do anything with the anti roll bar as im not sure how low you can go with out messing with the arb on mk4s.
Around 45mm then you need adjustable droplinks.

i never used adjustable droplinks on my 4mo and it was looooow
-
4motions have different arb's. a guy at work has just put a r32 arb on his 2wd mk4 for more clearance
-
Nothing major replaced all my inner door handle covers and the main drivers door.Private plate transfer completed so me plates on and Ive bought a set of FK coilovers which are being fitted Monday  Trying to strike a deal on some R32 alloys
-
Finally got round to getting some jobs done on the Derv. All the door speakers were piss poor sound so got hold of dads ones out of his car as he upgraded his changed them over real pain as there all pot rivited in.Gave the EGR valve a clean out car feels far more responsive as it was really dirty in there.Binned those silly number plate surrounds and gave it a good clean on the outside.Ive bought some RS6 18" reps which are all mint collecting those tomorrow morning  .Monday my friends fitting the FK coilovers for me only going to go about 45mm as I dont want to be messing about with ARB.Painters had a look at that rear spoiler and reakons its gonna make a mess when it comes off so for now im leaving it on as im having the front and rear bumpers plus mirrors painted first then the tail gate.Im only just starting to get use to it now and its starting to feel a little more like my own.Ill post some new pics once the wheels are on and lowered on monday but a few piccys for now thanks for looking

Liking the wheels mate, good choice!
Didnt think the rear spoiler was too bad to begin with, but seeing the daylights photos now makes me realise why you want rid.
Are you feeling the love for this one like you did for the Anni then??
-
Wheels look great, any plans on lowering it.

Yeah its big mate sometimes it dont look to bad untill you see how big it is  Ive seen a a few with the same spolier on the net ones for sale etc just cant see why someone would want to fit one when the genuine one is far nicer.I still love my Anni and its more fun to drive than the derv not as quick though but when the mk4 is cheaper to insure, tax and it averages 46mpg it makes sense.Im not gonna go made either with the mk4 just get it looking tidy with a few extras and im happy.Wayne read the thread mate   Thanks again for the comments
-
Sorry :embarassed:
-
No worries mate I always do
-
Few pictures from last night now its lowered. The lad did have it really low at the front without any issues with the ARB but the inside of the wheels was touching somewhere on the coilover so he lifted it slightly and its fine now.If I fitted some spacers I can get it down more but im pretty happy how it sits plus its a far better ride than my mk3 this isnt bouncy at all really nice ride.Few quick pictures from last night thanks.

looks ace - colour is wicked.
Are you finding the 115 engine pokey enough?
-
Cheers mate yeah it pulls really well im not sure if its had a re-map but I will take it to R-tech at some point see what they can do.
Got some more jobs sorted on it in the last few days.
Tracked up after suspension fitted
Had my Tyres filled with Nitrogen
Oil change as the last owner put some cheap stuff in
Tempreture sensor
New Thermostat
Coolant change G12
EGR valve removed and cleaned new gaskets fitted
My parrot handsfree fitted
Car drives so much better and its now running smack on 90 degrees where before it was up and down on the tempreture so in money well spent.
Up next is paint its booked in for front bumper rear bumper bit on my drivers door and mirrors. The bonnet has stone chips but ive bought a Bonnet Bra the R one and im not usually a fan of them but it does look good.On saturday all the interior coming out and its gonna get a good clean and vac out and do all my dash etc thanks ...
-
Love the colour & looks on this car
If it hasn't been remapped, get it done, diesel's love it.
-
Looks loads better lowered.
-
Thanks for the comments

Car broke down on me twice last week but did start again once my AA friend told me what to do.Had the EGR cleaned out but it cut out again yesterday and I decided to just buy a new one which I fitted yesterday.I was pretty pleased with myself fitting it  car seems fine now as you can see in the piccys the old one which had been cleaned not very good I reakon was sh!tty and the new ones on.Also fitted a new tempreture sensor last week and for some bizzare reason it popped open on the one side. This happened twice and I actully found the problem who ever had changed the tempreture sensor before be had left a old sell right inside it which was causing it to pop open under presure anyway sorted now hopefully ill have no more problems  dam mk4s worse than my mk3

Had the Derv de-cated today and its the best £40 ive spent so far as it deffo feels more responsive.Ive also sourced a mint bonnet and rear bumper the same colour which im tempted to buy but as the car has a issue at the moment Im saving my pennies first just incase I have to spend a few quid but hopefully it wont be.My problem with the car at the min is it use to just cut out at random only evr done it once if it did it in that day.Once it did cut out all I had to do was put my foot on the gas and keep the key turned and it started after about 10 seconds or so after that it was fine.Today though I was giving it some beans and when in 2nd gear and flooring it just as I change into 3rd it cuts out.I have taken the car to my friend who works at vw he put it on there computer and it returned no fault codes everything was fine.We have had a look under the bonnet and noticed the vacum pipes off the EGR valve are pretty poor condition so im changeing them tomorrow if that dont help he reakons it could be the solenoid sticking which means nothing to me  but thats my next step.Few piccys of the car with its bonnet bra on not everyones cup of tea I know but it dont look to bad and hides the stone chips

Bra looks good mate, I think they suit mk4s. Hope u get you problems sorted, dunno what the solenoid is for but can't see it being expensive to replace. More problems with the apparently trusty old oil burner than your anni!
-
For sure had someone else look at it today he reakons its air in the fuel system as its a cheapo fuel filter and apparently there a arse when you change them. The N75 was only £35 not to bad but ive cancelled that now im going with the fuel filter so fingers crossed.Ill get it sorted if I dont im gonna go and buy a VR and f**k deisel
-
another dark pumper
At least its a fecking Golf..
Nice choice, looks good. I was worried yet another A3 would land here!
-
Not keen on the bra :undecided:

best colour by far    Although am biased...
Why buy a new EGR when a Allard EGR delete pipe is a 1/3rd of the price?

To be honest I dont know anything about diesels and I didnt know about deleting the EGR valves out.I phoned GSF they had a EGR on the shelf and I just thought i would cure the problem but turns out I was wrong  Do you think its still worth buying one as I was going to buy one of a guy on here but now Ive got a new EGR is worth doing it still plus ive still got to find the problem.I think my next step is a fuel pump the one in the tank.
-
Older diesels had a fuel shut off solenoid not sure if they do on the PD's but if fitted it might be your problem.
-
After considering setting fire to my mk4 derv as I had a issue with it cutting out at random and it then restarting and driving fine things finally started coming to a head.It was getting really bad as in one day driving back from Derby it broke down on my about 15 times but would start back up which just about got me back to my house. At this point after trying all kinds of things and replaceing different parts I was ready to go and buy another car and just f**k this off for what ever I could get for it.But I decided to give it one more chance and took it to the lads who sorted my 16v out many moons agao when I was having simlar problems with that.Anyway thank the Lord they sorted it and im a now a happy man but the problem was pretty stupid to be fair to the car. They installed a clear fuel line from the fuel pump which indicated to them masses of air in the fuel system which was causing the car to cut out so they went straight for the fuel pump in the tank. When they removed the 3 screws and lid it turned out that some pratt had put the fuel lines the wrong way round  so they swapped them back round and the car is a flyer powers all back in the higher gears and it pulls really well. Can belive all the different people that had seen the car and ex amount of money spent and these boys sorted it in about 3 hours anyway happy days I can now start makeing this car look pretty
-
looking sweet mate
glad its sorted
-
Good result with fixing the fault :afro:
-
Few small updates sorted my squeeking brake pads out as they were driving me loopy and discovered I need a new ball joint.Ive also bought one of these Jom Anniversary style front spliter hopefully be here some time this week ill throw some photos up once its on.My next job is on saturday removing the front headlights splitting the lights open and tidying up the inner part thats black the one has some kinda dust in there and could just do with a tidy up tbh.Found a rear bumper and front bonnet in the same colour both mint so all being well and I have some spare cash Im gonna buy them.No photos till the new splitters on thanks
-
My new front splitter arrived today fitted a treat and like how it looks think it makes it look abit more aggressive.Few more small jobs to do before I start on the paint few piccys anyway

Like the look of this, only just clocked the rear spoiler too, nice... shame about the bra though. :lipsrsealed:

Yeah I know bonnet bras are marmite but its just serving a purpose untill either a new bonnet or its painted I still think it looks ok so it can stay for now.Today I had the outer cv boot replaced, wishbone bushes, front pads as my old ones squeeked, exhust lined up better and its driving all good.I have vertually changed everthing now that needed or would have needed changing so I can finally start on the out side now when I get some more spare cash  I have also purchases a black Audi A3 Interior at a stupid bargain price as on the drivers seat the stitching had come away and it needed re doing so the seat should be ready for thursday just on the look out for some leather door cards now  pictures to follow
-
