I'd get a Mk4 R32
-
It's a very clean and tidy example but for 8K i'd be looking for a small light MKII GTI.
Nick
-
for 8k id be looking for a mint shell and scooby killing power and braking  i would want at least 250hp in that with lsd and its in the sh1ttiest colour for a mk1
-
Isn't that the car that someone on here, travelled a long way to view, and wasn't impressed, and went home
Porsche owner, flew in to Brum from Ireland iirc... ring any bells

That's does ring bells! Is it the same one?....
Reconditioned engine or not that mileage is a sh*t load for an 8k car... it must be perfect everywhere!
As said, not the most desirable colour or spec for a mk1
Oh and why bother comparing a mk5 to this for the money, its no comparison.
-
If i had it spare i'd pay £8000 for that all day long, my all time favorite car.
I'd get a Mk4 R32
Na, get the Mk6 R32 for 6k

I didn't make a profit, it just had to go when circumstances forced me to.... It was the right car at the wrong time.
-
Oh and if I had the money when this was for sale I would have snapped it up without giving it any thought at all!... It went for insane money though.

yeah... lookee here for the info http://www.flickr.com/photos/guyfrankland/5929238265/sizes/o/in/photostream/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/guyfrankland/5929238265/sizes/o/in/photostream/)
the one lady owner had it from 75-2002 and only did 17,750 miles in it...
when I spoke to the owner at stoner he said that it wasn't a pleasure to drive as he was more a guardian than an owner and it was too precious to do anything other than drive it to shows
-
^^ from where?... I sold it when I left home.
even had a mint wolfsburg steering wheel in it.
The car went for less than what the wheels worth now.
