We are NOT going down this road again, live and let live (and 8v's live longer).

16v is better than 8v, FACT
More power, more response, better efficiency and revs higher.
-
trust me 20v is the best
on a serious tip, iv had em all
8 and 16 harldy owt in it. 16v revs longer but feels slower off the mark.. well the green one did i got compaired to my old 8v lump. that said the Head gasket went on the Green valver
if i was to do it all over again, id go for a 16v car as the base to start a project on, its easier to upgrade the engine to something better on these as they have the all important gearbox, and other parts which will be needed
so in a nutshell, id have to say out of 8v or 16v - 16v wins
but my old 8v never let me down and was pretty nippy
-
186k on my 16v and counting!

Oh dear, awareness and sense of humour fail. If you read your post and scroll down you'll see your mileage appears to decrease rather than increase. Hence the reference to "clocking".

 oh yeah ..lol i must have put them on in reverse order .... no drama

I know I was on the hunt for a black 3rd vr6 with low miles and only found 4dr's with 40,000 and then this came up and I just couldn't say no so bought it. and then bought a vr6 6 months later
