so at the end of may i drove down to nottingham to pick up my first ever golf, i have wanted a mk2 golf for years and i couldn't believe when i found a black 3 door with no rust, a fully recon gearbox and 10 months mot and 6 months tax!
on the way home one of the nylon clips on the gear linkage broke and i thought oh god here we go! but we ended up bodging the linkage together with 5 or 6 elastic bands and drove the remaining 120 miles with unable to get into 5th gear, but i was loving it nonetheless
the oil cooler had given up the ghost so i replaced that along with a tsr performance gear linkage kit i purchased from the bay and also had to get a new tyre as one wasn't holding more than 14psi :lipsrsealed:
then about 2 weeks after i'd had her the engine made a funny rattling and i pulled off a slip road to see what it was... i didn't get a chance to pull over before it jolted and cut out. turns out a crank shaft bearing came loose and seized the whole engine :( so then i was stuck for what to do, do i recon the engine, get a second hand one and take a risk, or do i cut my losses and get another car :undecided:
i quickly got rid of the idea of getting rid of the car cause she'd made such an impression during the journey home (even with 4 gears i couldn't wipe a smile off my face) then i thought if i get a second hand engine it could all happen again and could be a total waste of cash, so i bit the bullet and told the garage to strip it and send it off to be rebuilt.
that's where i am so far, i'm waiting to get it back atm, every single part in the engine has been replaced with new genuine parts shipped over from germany, so it's by no means a second rate job! it's been bored out to 1.9L and i'm also getting a new clutch fitted and all new belts, so it really will be like new! :D
in the last 5 weeks i've been acquiring parts so that when i get her back i get on with everything:
polished audi pepperpots with 5 stud adaptors (20mm spacing)
4 bridgestone potenza tyres 165 50 15 for a nice stretch :P
front splitter, as the current one has a chunk out of it
new undrilled airbox with pipercross panel filter
jom stainless strut brace
fk ak street coilovers
full stainless exhaust system (got from someone down the road breaking one the same as mine for £20!)
and hopefully should have a stainless manifold in the next couple of weeks to release a few more ponies :D
then i need to get the wiring for the headunit sorted, also get new leds in the dash clocks and get the mileage matched up and that'll be it for a while until i can afford a full respray (doubt that'll be before christmas)
so here's a couple of pics of the old gal i've named her dobby

any feed back welcome! :D

It's OK, just lots of cosmetics to finish off... yours looks in better nic paint wise!
If you read the thread on my link you'll probably guess i've never been!
It's like Volksfest I believe, a lot of aircooled, pretty much only aircooled in it's early days but they have been encouraging water to come along and I now think that's its pretty much best of both.
-
fair enough man, love camper vans so it'll be cool to see some nice ones!
i've just been looking through some edition 38 pics, well tempted to buy a new black bonnet for mine as it has a dent in it, then stencil up my current one, reckon it'd look pretty sick for shows and stuff and could always change it back to standard if i went off it
too many ideas running through my head for it all atm, just trying to get main things done first then worry about other stuff afterwards, easier said than done though

Yeah your mind can run wild, if you look at my project page you'll see I have 3 bonnets now... I have a fibreglass Audi quatro style to sort out and i'm currently making an original mint as I can... can't make my mind up which looks best so doing up both so I can swap them at will.
-
sounds sweet mate
need to get hold of a stainless manifold first though, found one on ebay for £170 inc postage but i'm trying to see if i can find a second hand one to save a few pennies though first

You should go mate! We will all get pissed up and be best mates by the end of the weekend :D mk2 looks good! 8)
-
Nice thread. Seems like its gunna b mint when its rebuilt. Bad luck bout engine going though
-
got it back the other day, not allowed to take it over 4.5k for 1000 miles, and not allowed to let it sit and idle, but was told i can drive it normally :)
just a bugger i can't use all the revs, 200 miles down already though :P
only problem i have now is head unit wiring is screwed, plus the oil light will not stop flashing, it's flashed ever since i've had the car, all the oil pressure switches have been changed and the pressure is bang on in both the head and the bottom end, so there's nothing actually wrong with it, i think that the person i bought it off has mucked up the wiring when they put a pb engine in it, as it originally had a kjet.
spoke to a a big auto electrical company today and they said they won't touch it cause of the age... now i'm at a loose end as to what to do! :(
on a brighter note i back to blacked all the trim and fitted my undamaged front splitter, pics to follow when the bloody weather clears up
-
You should go mate! We will all get pissed up and be best mates by the end of the weekend :D mk2 looks good! 8)

-
Cheers dude, wish I still had all of them but ah well the bora will do for now
-
nah man, i reckon the bora's the nicest, second only to the black mk2 gti 8v of course ;)
-
Yeah the mk2 looked pretty tasty when I had it on BBS RM's with stretched tyres, but sold it and went to thailand for 5 weeks haha
-
so i got the car back on friday and immediately fitted my new front splitter as the other one has a big chunk out of it
then i back to blacked all the trim, and i've given it a good clean today, here's how she looks now

-
bring on the end of the month, getting the friday off work so i'll have a 4 day weekend to really crack on with the old gir! :D
list of things i aim to fit...
coilovers
strut brace
new discs and pads all round
stainless manifold and full stainless exhaust system
5 stud 25mm adaptors
alloys
pressed number plates
bearing in mind i've always had a garage do all the work on my previous cars i'm determined to do all the work myself, should all be fairly simple if i just take my time and be methodical, only thing i'm worried about is the manifold and decat pipe, may have to get a garage to do that as looks like the engine will have to be dropped a bit to get to it
any tips on fitting any of the stuff mentioned above as i'm going in blind
-
Drop subframe of to do manifold mate. And jack the car up. Do it while ypur swappin frontsuspension. Should be straight forward from there.
Liam
-
i was hoping no-one was gonna say anything like that :undecided:
i wouldn't know where to start dropping the subframe and don't wanna mess anything up as i'll need it for work on the tuesday!
-
also a few shots me and my mate got at the weekend shame the camera's not great and she was covered in dust

Its 4 bolts, and another 2 on front cross member. Other way is to take front end off and lift the engine out slighly and it should give you the room to clear the subframe. I did mine when I was swapping engines over so I lifted engine out witg engine crane
-
Looks lovely.
-
cheers man
-
been working hard today with my mate randle!

didn't have time for to fit the strut brace in the end and had a bit of a problem doing the manifold, got the down pipe off then realised we couldn't get it off the car, so cut it in half to try get it off, then realised that we weren't gonna be able to get to the top bolts of the manifold so we had to bodge the downpipe back together with a couple of fanta cans and some mesh until i can get it to the garage during the week aha
safe to say it sounds loud as f*ck, not in a good way though unfortunately aha
also need to get the tracking sorted and need to lower the front a bit more as there's a bit of reverse rake going on aha but not too bad an effort for a novice i though! :D

Not sure on the rear window. :undecided:
-
I usually dislike the audi pepperpots but they look great polished on this car :afro:

cheers man! i saw them on ebay a couple of months ago with the 5 stud spacer adaptors included, in abosutely mint condition for £180, i couldn't refuse aha people always doubted me but i always knew they'd look great, the pictures do them no justice at all! desperately needs a good clean and general tidy up aha
-
Loving the pepper pots man! I missed out on some for mine a while back!

-
She's looking lovely dude! What have you got planned next?
-
Very nice mate  will keep an eye out for it :afro:
-
Not a common sight and therefore even nicer to look at... Cars looking great overall especially with the pots. Bargain!... Don't like the VW badge done in red but meh, each to their own.
-
cheers guys! :D
yeah man i wasn't sure on the red badges to begin with but they've really grown on me!
the mani and full exhaust system are getting fitted in the next couple of weeks, but i'm keeping the standard gti rear box cause i just can't get enough of the retro twin tailpipes! :P
-
Don't like the VW badge done in red but meh, each to their own.
As above and not sure on the rear window stickers either (can you see anything ) . Looks great other than that though!
-

yeah i can see our of the rear window perfectly...
i've decided to get some new alloys when i can afford them, thinking either ats cups, borbet As, bbs reps or banded steelies... not sure which to go for though

aha i decided to change the thread as it was too long winded!
yeah i love ats cups, i want something with some serious dish but i'd like something a bit different, any suggestions?
-
Rotas. Notmally on drift cars, can get some deepdish ones, dont know if u can get 4x100 though :undecided:

i'm running 5x100 25mm spacers already for the pepperpots so i'd prefer 5x100 if possible anyway as it'll give me a bit more width, and i want 8j if possible
-
bbs 3pc splitsand change the dish to what you want
-
yeah but i don't wanna be spending any more than £500 on alloys and tyres... :undecided:
-
:undecided: hmm banded steallies is the cheapest option for that or some e ay bargain. What size or r u not fussed
-
i'd prefer 15" but would go to 16" if they were the right wheels for the right price
-
Ebay and search til u find someone thathas listed wheels wrong. Then u get the bargains.
-
i should be able to get a nice set for £500, there's plenty on ebay, i just don't have the money just atm
-
wound the coilovers down another 15mm at the front today, gave her a good clean and polish and did some general pic whoring! :P
i think she's sitting just about perfect now, also have the stainless manifold and exhaust system on now but have kept the original rear box cause it's retro as f*ck  can't believe how much difference it's made feels so much more lively and has definately improved the acceleration by a good 5-10%
any comments welcome :nerd:

I want this car soooo bad!!
Great work!
-
Looks really smart.. Love it... as said before though, just not sure on the badges. I did the same to mine and hated it. Must just be me.
-
cheers guys, badges are definately staying
also found out why she's so rapid, she's got a 2y 16v gearbox, and the shorter ratios really make a difference, especially with all that low end torque
-
gd find om the gearbox
-
gd find om the gearbox
yeah man, shame it's shagged, getting it recon'd in the next month or so!
-
a quick update, had a dodgy connection on the coilpack and the metal plate on the rotor arm was slightly bent so have fitted a new connection and replaced the rotor arm and she's running sweet again now. also replaced the rear exhaust box for a brand new oem one as the old one had rotten through
just bought 10mm high power performance ht leads
a set of ngk iridium plugs
a new rear gearbox mount
and some red hose covers
plan to get them all fitted next week when they arrive, then raise the back end a bit to match the front (it's as low as i dare go at the front) and then next weekend i'm gonna give her 3 runs on a dyno and get a power print out to see what she's producing, exciting times!
-
sticker bombed my petrol cap :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/DSCN0142.jpg)
just working on some ice atm, fitted front and rear alpines, and mounted my bluetooth headunit in the glovebox, got some vibe rectangular 600w 6x9s running off a vibe 450w amp and a pioneer 700w sub running off a pioneer 400w amp, carpeting the sub box and fininishing the install this weekend :D
-
just discovered vw heritage... i'm now so tempted to go down a different route looks wise, want you guys input
thinking, chrome trim front and rear bumper, debadged 2 lamp front grille, crystal front lights, chrome door handle inserts, remove arch trims and sill covers, keeping the door trim, chrome rear vw badge and smooth over where the rear golfgti badge is, i think it'd look pretty awesome with the polished pepperpots
-
Sounds like a grand plan to me man! Can you get crosshair headlights for mk2s like you can for mk1s? I've always loved those!
-
they're pretty sick but i prefer the crystal ones for the look i'm going for, basically as retro as possible!
-
keep the plastics.. sounds like a good plan
-
Ditch all the plastics! LOL
-
it's all about the chrome on black retro look
-
it's all about the chrome on black retro look
+1 :)
-
can get everything i need for under £300 too, what a win!
just hope i don't get a nasty surprise when i remove the arch trims and sill covers
-
so i haven't done much recently as it's been a bit cold, picked up some lenso bsx in mint condition though and got some new tyres... look pretty good i think :D
changed all the brake discs and pads all round also had the tracking done and the camber adjusted (running between 1.5 and 2 degrees at the front :P)
decided to get a debadged single lamp front grill with red pinstripe and some new crystal smoked front headlights, then the rear is gonna be debadged, then i'm ordering 25mm spacers all round and gonna get the fitment just right :nerd:

and new handbrake and gear gaitor
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/16.jpg)
this weekend the plan is to clean give her a good clean, tcut all the new paintwork in, tint the front lights, heat gun the plastic trim back to new and give her a damn good polish :D
she's getting there!
-
Dobby's looking good Andy. Although not sure about the red badges :undecided: each to their own. Never forget the first time i drove a mk2 gti good times
-
front badge has gone now as i have a debadged grill (shown in my signature) and i'm gonna change the rear badges soon
but cheers man

Yeah noticed that after i posted  personally like standard grille with black badges. Would be pretty boring if we all had the same mind. Did you get it on the dyno?
-
nah man didn't bother in the end... getting her tidy for the summer then hopefully she'll be coming off the road in october for a heart transplant
-
tinted the front lights a few weeks ago and here's a pic of her ready for a local meet last weekend :)
-
Looking pretty tidy now... nice job with getting on top of that rust... take it it wasn't too bad then.
-
unfortunately she got hit on a roundabout about a month or so ago so i've had to get a new drivers side door and i'm currently waiting on funds to get her back to her former glory
gonna have to get the sill sorted and get the frame and wing pulled back into shape =/ so she's currently sorned and parked up safely in my grandads workshop
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20120427_112807.jpg)
i decided it was a good idea to get hold of a reliable diesel daily, of course it had to be a vdub so the only logical choice was a 1.4tdi polo, i shall be putting up a project post for that in a bit as i can't be driving round in a standard granddads car :P
-
Hi mate, Cars looking good  I know this is abit random but can you remember what tyres you were running on the pepperpots? Thanks Ben
-
so she should back from the bodyshop after having the wing, sill and door pillar pulled this weekend, ready for my mate to hit her with some filler and paint :D
in the mean time i've bought her a new heart :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/vr6.jpg)
also ordering her some new shoes next weekend, thought i'd go for something a little different! never seen concave rims on a mk2 before ;)
this is now a full on project and i can't wait to get her how i want her :D
-
wheels have arrived, i love them so much!
opinions welcome
-
Loving where this is going bud! I reckon those wheels should look pretty damn cool once they are on. What size tyre are you gonna go for?
-

cheers dude! can't wait to get cracking! :)
i've got some 195/45/15 uniroyal rainsport 2s to go on, so should stretch pretty nicely
-
got her back from the body shop today! got a big weekend of filler and paint ahead of me next week! :D
also test fitted the xxr rims, they look awesome and have the perfect fitment... may need to mess about with my arches a bit though :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/repaired.jpg)
comments welcome as always, hopefully there should be a constant stream of updates now :D
-
The XXR's look spot on man! Can't wait to see some rubber on there :)
-
dropped the xxrs off for the rubber to be fitted earlier on :D
also got the engine out ready to be picked up on friday! A good nights work, just got mani, downpipe, loom and driveshafts to remove then, can't wait to get the vr6 in now :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/engineout.jpg)
-
Awesome stuff.
-
8v engine has now been sold so that'll fund the rest of the bits i need!
i have now also decided to de arch her and fit a cl front splitter, will smooth the rear below the tailgate, have also ordered 2 new front wings which will be sprayed along with both doors and the rear arches once they have been treated for any rust!
this is turning into a real project now and i love it :D
bits i have so far:
mk2 16v 100mm drive shafts
obd2 vr6 lump, gearbox, loom, unlocked ecu and mk2vr6 custom mount
vr6 rad
vr6 clocks
stainless exhaust manifold
mk3 16v 280mm callipers
i trial fitted my wheels today and they're perfect except the numpties sent me one in the wrong offset, so annoyed! hopefully they will send a correct one out free of charge as they were shipped over from the us and postage is a fortune =/
any feedback welcome :D
-
so i took the rear arches off today and the passenger side is in amazing condition with just a little bit of bubbling near the sill  the drivers side not so much, someone has done a really dodgy repair and stuffed it full of filler and it has started to rot quite badly, looked on vw heritage for a repair panel and they only want £20 so that's a bonus!
this has turned into a proper project now and i want to make her exactly as i want her and am prepared to keep her off the road for as long as that takes :D
a picture of the rear arch...
-
I really like those wheels, good choice
-
The XXR's look spot on man! Can't wait to see some rubber on there :)
Snap, definitely cool rims.
-
Project is looking good buddy!
Will have to get some pics of our mk2s together when you have the vr6 on and I have the 1.8T in mine :)
-
Didn't see the pics of the rims dude they look awesome! Gonna look sick when its finished!
-
cheers dude, will have to for sure!
i'm sorting the bodywork first then the vr lump should be dropped in :D
100m driveshafts, 5mm spacers, new alternator belt and new rear wing delivered yesterday... and picking up a 6 branch stainless mani and mk3 16v brakes tonight!
then picking up my new front wings tomorrow and i have everything i need to start getting on with the project, exciting times :D
-
picked up the stainless 6 branch mani and decat and the mk3 16v callipers and carriers! have sent the callipers straight of to be reconditioned and painted gloss black :D
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/IMG_20121026_221129.jpg)
have also bought some new mintex pads for them and some 280mm g60 discs, need to get hold of some braided lines but i don't wanna buy 2 sets so i'm gonna see if goodridge will supply a set with the right front and rear lines for the set up i'm running :)
also started with some filler work and rust treatment, was quite a bit of surface rust on the front and rear of the passengers rear arch, have ground it all back on the front part and given it a coat of primer to keep it fresh for now :)
also ground back and started filling the sill where it has been pulled out after the crash on the drivers side and sorting a little surface rust under the door seal :)
and a mug shot of my two helpers :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20121028_163621.jpg)
also picked up my new front wings at the weekend so it's all hands on deck sorting the body out now, then when i get my brakes back they will be fitted, and then my new wheels will be fitted, the lump will be dropped in and she'll be ready for a hard summer ;)
-
bought myself another little goody, corrado steering wheel!
-
Think thats from a Polo GT pal not a corrado. May be wrong though.
-
i later found out they are the same aha
-
so my polo got written off a couple of weeks ago so i need to get this back on the road as my daily :)

any comments welcome :)
-
Nice to see some progress in this, it'll be good to see the finished article :)
-
so today we had a lot more progress :)
first of all i managed to get my corrado pedal box fitted, and managed to bend and rivet the top bracket to hold it secure
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130908_154954_zpsd065a3fe.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130908_154954_zpsd065a3fe.jpg.html)
got my momo boss and 280mm momo wheel on
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130908_162701_zps42c6b561.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130908_162701_zps42c6b561.jpg.html)
got the engine back out as i needed to dent the chassis leg to give clearance for the bottom pulley on the engine, also had to drill and flatten the bulkhead to take the clutch cylinder
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130908_172301_zps27946853.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130908_172301_zps27946853.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/IMG-20130908-WA0000_zpseb70e38e.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/IMG-20130908-WA0000_zpseb70e38e.jpg.html)
then got all the front suspension and brakes properly fitted and bolts and brake lines all tightened and engine back in
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130908_194449_zps6ea105e0.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130908_194449_zps6ea105e0.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130908_194455_zpsbcd51c60.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130908_194455_zpsbcd51c60.jpg.html)
also removed the heatshield and mk2 gear shift tower and linkages but didn't get a picture of that!
have just bought a mk3 vr shift tower and cables and a mk2 1.3 accelerator cable :)
will have another night during the week on her so i know exactly what bits i have left to get then will be hitting it hard again next weekend to try and get her running :D comments welcome!
-
Nice work!!!
-
don't you just love car parts?!
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130913_193123_zps7d1d3e19.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130913_193123_zps7d1d3e19.jpg.html)
1.3 mk2 throttle cable, oil, oil filter, sump plug, spark plugs, vr6 shifter and cables, shifter linkage kit (which looks an utter b1tch to fit!) and my polished oil catch tank :)
i also am awaiting delivery of dobby's new shoes :P
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/keskinoldschool_zps7bdd9842.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/keskinoldschool_zps7bdd9842.jpg.html)
will be spending another solid weekend working on her and hope to get her pretty much finished, only problem i have come across is i thought i had a later ce2 loom and fusebox but i don't! luckily my mate is a wiz with wiring and reckons he has all the bits to sort it! :D
comments welcome guys...
-
so i may have got a little carried away tonight and just bought a full front poly bush kit, 10mm high energy ht leads and i'm currently the highest bidder on a set of engine plastics! :P
-
so today i got a lot more done! :)
my mate welded in a new rear arch and sorted round my rear tow eye and a small spot on the other rear arch!
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_130405_zps2233b531.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_130405_zps2233b531.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_131417_zpscafaf809.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_131417_zpscafaf809.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_134525_zps4f42bb2c.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_134525_zps4f42bb2c.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_202003_zps21c00cfe.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_202003_zps21c00cfe.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_201955_zpsec1e410a.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_201955_zpsec1e410a.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_202014_zps9745fc14.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_202014_zps9745fc14.jpg.html)
then i got the vr6 shifter and cables fitted, drilled holes for the front two brackets and fixed them with a nut and bolt, then fitted the rear with metal self tappers and then fixed from above as well with my home made bracket :)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_183836_zps76b053ef.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_183836_zps76b053ef.jpg.html)
and all fitted
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_191723_zps566de9ab.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_191723_zps566de9ab.jpg.html)
gave the engine a good service apart from plugs and leads as they haven't arrived yet!
then i noticed this :/
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_184403_zps2b8afec5.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_184403_zps2b8afec5.jpg.html)
i'm guessing there's meant to be a cover that fits to the side of the gearbox covering the flywheel?!
then i got the corrado slim twin fan rad fitted with another home made bracket and bolted the new wings and front on :)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_201906_zpsd33e1294.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_201906_zpsd33e1294.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_201919_zpsd5089d69.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_201919_zpsd5089d69.jpg.html)
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130914_201939_zps6e9d27ad.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130914_201939_zps6e9d27ad.jpg.html)
and that's how she currently sits tonight, will be spending another full day on her tomorrow!
-
so had another good day on the old gal!
got the dash out to mount the vr6 clocks and get ready for my mate to tackle the wiring!
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130915_160733_zps73a20ffd.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130915_160733_zps73a20ffd.jpg.html)
clocks mounted... not too bad compared to some i've seen!
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130915_160836_zpsfb50b373.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130915_160836_zpsfb50b373.jpg.html)

so i'm about 90% there now and she should be running this sunday, i'm having to convert the whole car to ce2 wiring which sucks a bit but my mate is a wizard with wiring and is gonna sort it all for me! :)
had a very busy weekend, got some fk highline coilovers off my mate for £20 and a set of spacers, they're in great nick but i can't get the adjuster ring to move, had a little read up online and this seems to be the best solution!

sat well on the rear, then i hated how high the front sat so removed the helpers and wound the adjusters up a bit, then it was still too high so wound them down to 10mm from the bottom and here's how she sits now :D
(http://i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a427/3NothingRemains/20130929_170605_zpsb5be0a7e.jpg) (http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/3NothingRemains/media/20130929_170605_zpsb5be0a7e.jpg.html)

have just bought a new secondary coolant pump and some 5mm spacers for the front as the tyres catch the coilovers, now i'm just waiting on wiring and then start worrying about fluids and getting her mot'd :D
would love to hear some feedback!

then my mate came over and rewired the car to ce2 for me, the only part missing is a later ignition barrel so we couldn't start it! but he did manage to get the fuel pump to prime and get the starter motor kicking over, and she turned over freely which i was worried about as the engine has sat there for a year without being started :)
this short video of her turning over on the starter motor made me so happy aha
