would i notice a difference with these disc's and pads??
-
a little bit but not much. the discs are vented whereas yours are prob solid but that wont make much of a difference in normal conditions. the braided hoses will give a slightly better feel when you hit the brake pedal as the older rubber hoses expand slightly when put under high pressure. The pads are obviously better than standard and will make a difference but not a massive amount. To be honest i'd keep standard apart from the braided brake hoses. If you really want to upgrade then you need to go with bigger discs and calipers

okay cheers bud, i did look into gettin bigger disc's and calipers but i fort it would be a lot of effort for a 1.6

Obviously you could get drilled and grooved discs and uprated pads but the cost of those don't make it worth it. a 1.6 isn't built to be driven aggressively so i suggest being nice to it!

if you want i have a set of 288 mm calipers off a 5 door p reg 8v gti i will throw the rear calipers in for £70 delivered u would need to buy new disks and pads though

Will be 5 stud and his car is 4 stud

very true i could also supply front hubs and rear axle aswell lol that would mean alot of work though but possible  haha

mk2 G60 brakes with uprated discs and pads are the way to go with 4 studs hubs i believe.

Yup.
However what's the point of spending a lot of money on brakes? You're running a car with not that much power so the standard brakes should be more than enough. If they're feeling old and worn then just replace with standard items and save your money to spend elsewhere, like buying a GTI?

this is my point lol, thats why i was only looking at spending a bit more on disc's and pads reather then doin a whole system change, and would love to get a gti but being 19 this is out of the question

You ever driven a 1.6? I've actually gottem used to not braking as much as possible. They are awful!
-
Pretty sure they're the same 256 brakes as the 16v Mk2, which aren't too bad :undecided:
