Today, I wanted to adjust the front/rear balance on my RNS510. To my surprise, this facility was not there anymore. Only the right/left balance was displayed. This has probably happened since my power amplifier was installed. Any brilliant suggestions on how or why I lost it, please? How can I get this facility back?
Thank you in advance.

Bump!!
What does one have to do to get a speedy answer?

Your problem is you are balanced towards your rear....

I have a tiny pert perch so this is not correct. I wish it were different for a variety of reasons.
Now what about my front/rear sound balance, please?

if you want it louder in the back.. sit on the back seat. want it louder in the front... sit on one of the front seats. easy.

I believe, although I could be wrong, that this has something to do with the 'sound system' toggle, accessible via VAG.com. If it's set one way you don't get fader controls (front / rear balance). I'm sure somebody will post soon to confirm whether or not this is right.

Thank you stu. At least you care.
I had the front/rear balance before I started fitting a sub and amp. Bloody annoying not to have it now.

I have checked the system just now. I don't know what the fitters did. I can't understand why the R/L fader is there and not the F/R fader.
It also says 'AV Output off'.

sure they didnt replace you rear speakers with ice cream cones

Fcuk off Gilly love. Stop being such a b!tch! You've been on my case for the last few days.
Ok. I'll take you out for dinner. Happy?
Where's your sticky gone, eh?

Bump again!!!!!
Any more help forthcoming, PLEASE?

Its been coded via VCDS to say it has the sound system to change the outputs into low level so they can drive the amp directly.

Thanks Steve.
But can I get the F/R fader back? The fitters don't have VCDS software, of this I am sure.

I thought you were talking about your wheels from your subject line...

As has been said in thread, the only scenario you don't have the fader is when you have the soundpack amp so they must have changed something. If you change it back you will cause issues as you will now be driving the amp with the high level speaker outputs rather than the low level outputs that the amp requires.

I realised this sort of. Now I get it. Thanks for your help.

As usual I'm late to the party  but isn't this because your front/rear fader and EQ is all being done by your new amp, bypassing the internal controls?

Better late than never.
I've got the solution. Coding on the RNS is scrambled possibly from day one. They did not re-code the unit either. Will be sorted during the week by the fitters when I have the new speakers fitted. All the internal controls work like R/L fader but the F/R fader facility has disappeared.
