Around town and short trips, yep sounds about right.
-

I`ve just had 225 from just over half a tank which is normal for mine so i`m guess mine isnt to bad on the juice then
-
I used to get 250-280 from my 8v gti with a mix of motorway and town driving, but I do have a rather heavy foot :lipsrsealed:
-
380 miles from a tank. Country roads, motorways, 99MPH, town driving, 60MPH long trips.
-
After the first week of ownership of our mk3 gti 16v the missus and I have covered 230 miles and the needle is on the last white line before the red.
-
i think i will sort my blowing exhaust and change the fuel filter adn temp sender sohould improve it
-
:) london to bham (+ back)230 miles got out the car avagering 30mpg
-
What you have to remember is its the price of petrol going up making the MPG decline £1.38 a L at my nearest garage and when your low you dont have much choice as that red line alway seems to sneak up on me.
-
to be honest i managed to do about 25 miles when it was on the white line below the red hance why i wanna change my fuel filter
-
220 miles to a tank is perfectly reasonable with mixed/town driving. My valver gets about that with town/B road driving, hit the motorway and I'll easily get 450-500 miles to the tank
-
I easily get around 400 miles on a tankful without driving like a christian, but i do find it's better on non-supermarket stuff.
-
well like i say i have a blow in my exhaust and fuel filter prob needs changeing so i will do that and see how i get on
-
600 miles per tank including some enthusiastic driving on the odd occasion.

I bloody wish!
-
I tend to see about 300-350 from a tank, I don't do a lot of town driving though.
-
i deff think im only getting 220 becasue of my exhaust but will try and sort that today
-
I managed to get 150 miles outs of £40
-
Hi i get 300 miles to a full tank around town and on motorway 450 mile to a tank
I had my coolant temperature sensor fail not very long ago and was only getting 150 to a tank

It's not it's making the £ per mile go up.
You not putting more fuel in, it's just more expensive and the OP said per tank full not per £50 quid note
OP you need to get your exhaust fixed then get a fault code machine on your motor to check for faults sensors etc once you've had the exhaust repaired.
Once any faults have been sorted try short shifting and observe speed limits when driving - or break 'em and get it in 5th

Try surviving with a car that does 250miles to £114

Ummm maybe air/fuel ratio the cause? Cracked hose? Plus the maf sensor may be touchy. Other leaks? Maybe someone is siphoning fuel?
Try this out. Fill up car. Go for drive on motorway and go at 50-60mph constantly for say 60miles.
Fill up car again. How much fuel did you use? I'd say up to 7-8 litres is acceptable. Over 9 then you are running rich. Over ten then you have the swiss cheese effect.
Your fuel economy is really bad. Unless you drive at 100mph everywhere and change gears only when it redlines.

Thats got to be a chelsea tractor, i keep seeing cheap Range Rovers and the 'want one' factor is way up there..
-
220?! You should be getting at least 300. Sounds like you should also have your CO2 level checked on a VAG155x.
