Hi All,
Literally 15 mins ago im parked in halfords car park in eastbourne. When i come back out to my nice clean black 16v the guy in the shop next door runs out and tells me some little twit in a nasty looking white corsa just backed into me!
i now have a 4 inch white scratch on my front bumper just below fogs and a crack in my fog light! Im so pissed off!
The guy in the shop gave me his number plate so ill be keeping an eye out for sure. dont wanna get insurance involved obviously but is there a way of tracing him does anyone know??
rob

Police? He's committed a crime.
-
let the police know, leaving the scene of an accident failing to stop and give details etc.
Nice surprise for him
-
Twit? I meant twit, bloody spellcheck!
Yeah I thought about that but would they bother? If I'm not getting insurance involved etc
-
Worth a try isn't it?

Yes as he left the scene of an accident

I'd contact the police.
You have a numberplate
You have a damaged car
and
You have a witness.
It's all in your favour.
-
just done it, you were right.
bloke said its a crime in the eyes of the law and with those details they will trace him and all that!
im happier now, little sh*ts!!!

Exactly, and if he isnt insured the old bill will take his car off him and thats one other uninsured motor off the road.

When I contacted the police after a similar incident, I was given a producer and then threatened with court action when several months later they hadnt got a record of me producing my docs (even though I had). Meanwhile, I had received another letter stating that there wasnt enough evidence (despite photos, witnesses and a smashed windscreen) to persue the case any further!
I would sort this out your own way mate, the police are a joke!!
-
can't you ring the dvla and get a address of the car? I would be nasty

If you try to make a claim from his insurance your insurance company have to get involved and that will cost you your no claims or a percentage of it.Similar thing happened to me,bumper got ripped off.Police asked how much it would cost (about £25) and explained the NCB thing. It was cheaper to grunt and bear it.
-
So basically despite it not being your fault in any way, shape or form they still want it to affect your NCB? This sounds like the insurance company ripping people off. Noooo, surly not?
